From Exorcist to Hermeticist: A Journey Through Spiritual Warfare and Magic

    Introduction

We’re honored to share this powerful and personal interview with a former exorcist – Frater B – whose path led from traditional ministry into the world of Hermetics and Franz Bardon’s teachings. With deep experience in spiritual warfare, inner healing, and the unseen forces behind magical practice, he reflects on years of service, the mentors who shaped him, and the metaphysical training that helped make sense of it all. Whether you practice magic, meditation, or ministry, his story offers a rare look into a hidden side of spiritual life, something that most of us only really know from the movies not real life like Frater B.

If you enjoy this interview then please do let us know in the comments and if you think others will find it interesting please share it with them.

    Background and History

PAA: What were some key experiences in your early life that influenced your decision to pursue magic and exorcism?

I had an experience as a young man that I can only describe as a spiritual attack, and that might be the single biggest reason my journey led me down a different  road. I was newly 18, and I kept having these visitations from a terrifying, invisible presence at night. I could hear screaming that no one else could hear, sounds of tearing metal, it was a full-blown manifestation. I remember small objects flying around the room, the sound of footsteps, and that sense you get of a nearby person breathing on your neck. Worst of all, I would scream, and no one in my family could hear it, or at least, they didn’t wake up.

Actually, that wasn’t the worst thing. I still remember the urgent need to reject this new reality, where the supernatural was very real, and malevolent. I was even aware of my mental gymnastics, trying anything to restore a sense of normalcy. I remember that the spirit seemed to be aware of that: during pauses between attacks I would almost convince myself none of it was real, and that’s what it seemed to be waiting for. Then the attack would begin again, but with even more intensity.

I spent a few nights that way, just transfixed with terror, and when I brought it up to trusted adults, it was almost as if they couldn’t understand, and they definitely couldn’t retain the memory of the conversation. I thought I was going crazy.

I finally ran across a Catholic priest who took me seriously. “It’s no big deal, we deal with this a lot,” he said. “I can come out to your house, but it’s easier if I just show you how to do this yourself.” He gave me some simple instructions for how to bless oil and use it to seal the door and windows in my room. That was the first peaceful night I’d had in what felt like forever.

I managed to put it out of my mind until I went to University that fall, and the whole thing started up again. I panicked at first, but then I remembered I was sleeping in an unsanctified room. I repeated the priest’s instructions, and the spirit left me alone after that.

Fr. C was truly a gifted man. Supremely confident and deeply holy, he could literally tell you your sins by looking at you, and could frequently give you messages from the Holy Spirit. Many times he would stop and say “the Holy Spirit says you were praying earlier about such-and-such a topic, and the answer is…” He was invariably right.

    Frater B

PAA: Can you describe any significant mentors or figures who guided you in your journey?

I felt a call to ministry some time later in life, after spending years trying to be “normal.” Early on, I found that spirits often “manifested” (showed signs of their presence) around me. This eventually led to my being mentored by Father C, who was the exorcist for our diocese. When I was a transitional deacon preparing for priesthood, I followed him on nearly every supernatural call he performed: probably between a hundred and two hundred were instances of spirit activity.

I was one of two deacons in his care, and he trained us to do our jobs remarkably well. It was a great deal like military training: we were taught to do specific things under specific circumstances, for specific reasons, and to justify why we made our choices. It was funny, though: Fr. C didn’t allow many questions. There was no discussion about the underlying metaphysics, for example. Why did the spirits we dealt with behave as they did? Why were they vulnerable to certain things? We were discouraged from asking any question that began with “why.”

I know that the official answer is that the “why” questions lead to answers that can create an obsession with the supernatural, which the church discouraged. We were there to do a specific job in a specific way, and there was no room for error or speculation. It was really clear–if you paid close attention, and I did–that the training was not meant to make us like Fr. C, whose breadth and depth of education went far beyond what we were given.

    Entry into Magic and Spirituality

PAA: What specific events or experiences sparked your interest in the magical arts?

Maybe the easiest way to answer this question is to point to my education under my mentor priest. He passed away abruptly from the onset of a serious illness, and I’m not sure if it was by natural causes or the result of a spiritual attack. Everyone I knew from those days likewise passed away or disappeared, and it deeply bothered me that I never achieved the same depth of understanding that Fr. C evidently had.

PAA: How do you define spirituality in the context of your practice?

Spirituality is awareness of unseen realities.

    Becoming an Exorcist

PAA: What training or preparation did you undergo to become an exorcist? Were there any particular cases that solidified your resolve to perform exorcisms?

I probably answered most of this question, but I can go into more detail. By the way, we never, ever used the “e word;” I only say “exorcism” or “exorcist” with people who aren’t in church ministry and might not understand the terms “spiritual warfare” or “inner healing and deliverance.” As far as our preparation, we were given a thorough basic training: ask this, ask this, ask this too, and then say this or that prayer based on the answers. It was formulaic, but for simple cases, it worked remarkably well. In most situations, our authority as priests was enough. It was interesting that there were certain instructions or cautions that you might never have come up with on your own: they were the result of generations of exorcists getting better and better at the craft over time.

We never, for example, made what Fr. C called “a reviling accusation.” He pointed to the book of Jude, verse 9, where the archangel Michael doesn’t dispute with Satan over the body of Moses, but simply says “the Lord rebuke you.” We were never angry, insulting, or derogatory towards spirits we exiled, and we never had conversations with them: in fact, we were trained exactly how to shut down all communication with spirits right off the bat. The attitude the successful priest would take was nothing like the movies: no passion or spiritual struggle. It was nothing personal: our job was to send unclean spirits away or stop their depredations on the faithful, and it was nothing personal.

For their part, I think the spirits took it in stride too: the emotional backwash I felt from them (if I felt it at all) was something like “ah well, it was nice while it lasted.” They seemed to treat it like a write-off, like a cost of doing business. They would take advantage if we failed to dot all our i’s or dot our t’s, of course, but they didn’t seem very surprised by our showing up and doing our jobs.

I’d like to point out that we didn’t just cast spirits out of people. That’s a flawed model for what happens during spiritual warfare, anyway. We were just as frequently interfering with hauntings or “poltergeist” activity as we dealing with inner healing and deliverance situations.

    Modern-Day Practice

PAA: In what ways has the perception of exorcism changed in modern society? Do you find that people today are more open or skeptical about the practice of exorcism? Is this something that is widespread among particular religious institutions or very much underground.

This is a great question, although I can only answer it partially. I’m out of the practice of this ministry, professionally, so I can’t answer how perceptions have changed among churches. I suspect there is the same amount of skepticism there has always been: stories of the victims of unclean spirits are all well and good in the Bible, but isn’t that sort of macabre and outdated now? Most people would just strongly prefer not to think about these kinds of things, much less talk about them.

Within the church, the practice of spiritual warfare is very, very rarely discussed: most bishops rose to their position by being very able politicians, and good politicians avoid unpopular subjects. Most dioceses have someone like Fr. C, I think, although we never spoke with or corresponded with a similar team from another diocese.

I was a junior member of the team, so I wasn’t privy to everything, but I think it generally worked like this: a parish priest would run into something he didn’t know how to deal with, and would make a call to the bishop (probably the suffragan, like an assistant bishop, to keep the bishop’s hands clean). He (or someone under him) would brief Fr. C, and then we would go handle the situation. Fr. C made his report afterwards, and that was that, unless we had to do a follow-up. You can imagine that the fewer people who knew the details the better, both for reasons of parishioner confidentiality and diocesan deniability.

Even the people you help–no matter how grave their need was in the moment–would prefer to never see you or think about the experience of spiritual warfare again. It’s necessary–somebody has to do it–but it doesn’t make for a rewarding ministry experience.

    Frater B

    Support and Resistance

PAA: Have you faced any challenges from religious institutions regarding your work as an exorcist? What role does community support play in your practice, and how has it impacted your work?

I have worked under several denominational banners, and one similarity is that very, very few religious organizations will openly discuss spiritual warfare. Bear in mind that for most tithing churchgoers, the church is a social community where they go to get support for their challenges in life, and to be reassured they are in the good graces of the Divine, not to hear unsettling stories about supernatural evil. It’s just not good business to bring it up, and the senior leaders of any religious organization spend most of their time trying to keep the insurance premiums paid and the lights on. Spiritual warfare is a radioactive topic in nearly any mainstream church, and there are clergy in every denomination who flatly deny it is even relevant anymore.

It’s the kind of thing you leave off your resume, frankly.

Even the people you help–no matter how grave their need was in the moment–would prefer to never see you or think about the experience of spiritual warfare again. It’s necessary–somebody has to do it–but it doesn’t make for a rewarding ministry experience. After a harrowing or intense spiritual experience, you can almost watch the former sufferer’s worldview beginning to close in around the memory of the experience. Many won’t ever think of it again unless they’re specifically reminded, and some can’t remember it. It’s really interesting–and unsettling, frankly–how efficiently the average person’s mindset and memory adjusts to downplay or even remove an unpleasant brush with the supernatural.

    Support from Magical Arts

PAA: How do the principles of Hermetics influence your approach to exorcism? Can you discuss any specific techniques or rituals from magical arts that you find particularly helpful in your practice?

With regard to Hermetics, the major takeaway for me has been an understanding of the metaphysics that underlie the behavior of nonorganic entities. This is really the education Fr. C had, although the Lord knows where he got it. It’s easy to conjecture about a secret school, somewhere in the Vatican, but honestly, I think he was a student of Hermetics. There are too many echoes in the SixtySkills curriculum of things I remember him saying.

I think that many of the spiritual self-defense techniques taught in the SixtySkills curriculum probably do work, but (as you know) under stress, most people tend to revert to the practices they’ve used the most. In the rare occasion I now have to deal with a spiritual warfare situation, I still use the training I got from Fr. C. But my understanding of why that training works as it does has been invaluable, and that’s why I’ve never regretted becoming a private student.

Major Experiences & Tips for Others

PAA: What is one of the most challenging cases you’ve encountered, and what did you learn from it? Have you had any experiences that profoundly changed your understanding of spirits or possession?

PAA: What practical steps would you recommend for someone who believes they are being affected by negative spiritual energies?

Well, as a priest, my advice to the church faithful is to go to your parish priest and ask for help. I don’t know for sure that a trained person will be available, but I hope so.

For those who don’t have access to a trained person, and can’t reach me for help, I advise you to do the commonsense things suggested by your intuition. If you’re dealing with a “haunted” home, bless some oil, and anoint the windows and doors. Throw out any suspicious new possessions, and ask your kids some hard questions about any new friends or activities. You may have to play detective a bit, but you’ll often discover the cause. You’d be really surprised to learn how many people bring home ancient Aztec ceremonial relics from a vacation in Mexico, or similar, and never make the connection between their new acquisition and the spiritual activity in the home. Spirits can “ride” objects, and can be transferred from one person to another in various ways, which is the semi-secret meaning behind the Levitical cleanliness laws in the Old Testament. Often, a short interview with the family reveals that the problems started the day after a middle-school sleepover, or similar, when the kids tried a ritual in the basement as a joke. Sometimes that kind of play is harmless, and sometimes not. So invite any spirits to leave by whatever means are at your disposal (I use the Trinitarian formula, but that’s my background), and seal the home with the blessed oil. This is sort of the spiritual equivalent of first aid.

If it doesn’t work, or it only works temporarily. you’ll have to find someone like me to come in with more refined practices. I’m more or less retired, but I’m happy to help wherever I’m needed.

“Possession” is a really rare situation. It is really rare to run across a case where the individual’s will is entirely subordinate to an outside entity, partly because it would be pretty extraordinary for an entirely “possessed” individual to submit to inner healing and deliverance. So where individual connections to unwanted entities are concerned, my first advice would be to sever any negative relationships, whether those be relationships with people, drugs, alcohol, or sexual practices. I only have professional experience counseling Christians, so my advice is they command any unclean spirits to leave them in Christ’s name, and they pray that the Holy Spirit seal their soul and spirit bodies to prevent the return of any harassing spirits. This works about 70-80% of the time.

Our process was a great deal more involved, and much of it was based on a spiritual interpretation of Matthew 7, along with some traditional practices. They’re not secret, per se, but I find most people aren’t interested in hearing the technicalities. If the simple approach above doesn’t work, or only works temporarily, it’s best to find a trained person to help. Even a well-meaning priest or other clergy without specific training can make a mess of situations like that.

PAA: For those interested in exploring magic or spirituality, what foundational practices would you suggest they start with?

Without question, the best practices are Franz Bardon’s initiatory practices, and the best way to learn them is the SixtySkills curriculum. Ritual work is designed to bring a practitioner along a specific path to a specific spiritual destination, and can certainly work as intended. But what if your desired spiritual destination isn’t the place the ritual leads? In my case, I needed an understanding of the underlying metaphysics that made the practices I learned as a priest effective, and I needed a spiritual toolbox to accomplish spiritual tasks I hadn’t been trained to do. The SixtySkills curriculum has delivered on both counts.

    Questions on Hermetics

PAA: How did you first come across Hermetic teachings, and what impact have they had on your spiritual journey?

I first heard about Franz Bardon searching for answers on the internet, and then I ran across 60 Skills.

PAA: How has Franz Bardon’s work specifically shaped your understanding and practice of magic, and what key teachings from his writings do you find most impactful?

Bob frequently says “God makes systems, not exceptions.” I think about that a great deal. Most of the received wisdom within religious tradition has lost the ability to replicate the wonders performed by the founder. I think it’s fair to say that the early church father St. Jerome recognized that while the ministries of the apostles reflected much of Jesus’ wonderworking power, few of the apostles’ successors were able to do the same in his day (347-419 AD). It seems the apostles’ skillset wasn’t replicated faithfully, and that’s a huge incentive to study Bardon’s initiation, for me.

Bob’s approach is one of the most efficient and effective I have ever seen.

    Frater B

PAA: In what ways have the teachings from Sixty Skills contributed to your magical practices, and how do they differ from or complement the principles found in Bardon’s work?

The SixtySkills curriculum is a modern evolution of the mid twentieth-century practices in Bardon’s most important works, shaped by contemporary pedagogy and personal testimony. I don’t see it as separate from the Bardon corpus; maybe an interpretation? In any case, it took me around two years to master the skills of IIH as a private student (Perseus Edit: A Private student of Bob – Sixty Skills), which exceeded all my expectations. I doubt I would have been able to finish the coursework in Initiation without the improved pedagogy and streamlined approach in the Sixty Skills curriculum.

A side note: Bob doesn’t consider himself an especially gifted teacher, but I beg to differ. Priests often have church jobs outside the parish structure, and I spent 13 years teaching in a classroom (and earned the Master of Education degree, in addition to my divinity studies). Bob’s approach is one of the most efficient and effective I have ever seen.

PAA: Is there anything else you would like to share?

The interview brings up a lot of memories, and makes me think of the friends and colleagues I’ve lost. I never made a decision to step away from inner healing and deliverance ministry, but my ministry role was reassigned after Fr. C’s death, and it just became a thing of the past for me. When I think about all the frightened, hurting people we helped, I sometimes feel a sense of responsibility to the world and the universal church: I don’t know that Fr. C has any other living successors, and I have no idea how well the church is managing this very real need. I sometimes wish there were an opportunity to perform this ministry again, or train others to do what I once did. I don’t know if the training I received is lost to the world, the way the apostle’s power wasn’t transferred to the next generation of church leaders. I feel a sense of responsibility, but I don’t know what to do about it. It’s in God’s hands, I suppose. “All shall be well, and all shall be well,” as St. Julian of Norwich said. And I trust that’s true. Still, I miss it sometimes.

PAA: Thank you very much for sharing your journey with us.

The Ages of the Zodiac, Magic, and You – Sixty Skills

    Introduction

Today we’re going to talk a little bit about the various ages of the zodiac and how their background energies can directly impact magical practice—and why this is important for you now.

Ages of the zodiac aren’t something in terms of magical practice that you’re going to hear a lot about because quite frankly there isn’t much of a historical record. You need to keep in mind that the great works of the classical Greek and Roman period, if you look at those from the standpoint of original source documents that we actually have access to, they basically fill a single bookshelf. The period of classical antiquity concerned with paganism largely consisted of the period of the age of Aries. Now under the age of Aries, Aries was ruled by Mars and fire.

Begin an 18 Month Curriculum taking you to Magical Independence

Transition to the Age of Pisces

At the time of Christ’s death you basically have the beginning of the age of Pisces, which was ruled by, interestingly, both Jupiter and Neptune and water.

    The Coming Age of Aquarius

Finally, depending upon who you ask we are either at the end of the age of Pisces or alternatively at the beginning of the age of Aquarius, which is ruled by both Saturn and Uranus and governed by air.

    Implications for Magical Practice

So this is kind of interesting because these background energies will definitely impact what magical effects a practitioner can engage in and perform. If you go back to the classical pagan period and you read or learn about magical effects that were being engaged in—such as the battle between the Egyptian priest and Moses—it’s easy to see in a world whose background energy is Mars, male sexuality, fire and a nearetheric kind of level of existence (ruled by Gebbor, if you’re into Sephirot studies by the way) how very near physical effects that would be visible to the eye would be easy to pull off because there would simply be much more etheric energy available in the background at a near physical level.

Now as we go into the age of Aquarius, which is in turn ruled by Chesed, Jupiter, Neptune and of course water, well the things that you would be able to pull off would obviously change. This would probably appear or come across as a much more kind of higher level astral kind of thing, maybe nearer to Tiph in terms of the energies involved and, quite frankly, have less of a purely physical character associated with it—hence the rise of what we call spirit magic or deity fusion where you went less from working with these near physical elemental forces and now you were more concerned with merging your essence with another entity such as a deity or a saint or a spirit of some kind.

We’re coming to the end of the age of Pisces and again we’re moving into this age of Aquarius. Depending upon who you ask, we may in fact already be there. The ruling planets for this are both Saturn and Uranus and the element is air, so this would imply a more mental kind of level of existence and in terms of magic could quite possibly explain a lot of the—let’s call it—psychic phenomena that have been coming up in popular culture and just in popular experience at large that are more about observing in sensory apparatus type things and less about, say, setting a sheet of paper on fire with the power of your mind.

    Temporal and Spatial Considerations

This is going to become important because when you consider the role of a egregore—and this is a topic point of conversation on this channel—you also need to remember that a egregore that’s older, their magic would have developed in a time period where quite possibly this zodiac energy that is in the background governing things is different. That’s also the reason why you can learn a magic from an older system and it may not work in our time frame or it may work differently now because of that. To the degree that physics changes as a result of these background energies being different, it’s really hard to say. But I would advise you to keep the following in mind: the trick with having a time machine isn’t just that you need a time machine that works, it’s also that you need a spaceship that works because our galaxy, while it’s spinning in a circle and we’re orbiting the center of that galaxy, is also in fact moving through space. So if you were to travel back, say, 8,000 years into the past, you would also need a spaceship that could take you to that point in space where the galaxy actually existed 8,000 years ago. So it’s not a stretch to imagine that as the galaxy is moved from point A to point B that the background energies governing that could very well have changed, and as a result an age of Aries in one point in that celestial journey might actually be a little bit different than an age of Aries in a different point in that celestial journey.

    Working with Ancient Systems

I bring all of this up because many people who subscribe to this channel like to work with the magics of different classical systems. Keep in mind depending upon how old that classical system is, the background energy availing 60 skills in person for some real life instruction—all you chiongers, meditators, yoga practitioners and magicians out there—can come join us at magiccamp.click where you can learn all about our summertime in-person seminars.

    Concluding Thoughts

Otherwise, as per usual, train hard and be well. Back to our regular programming. It may or may not be what you need to actually make it work the way it did historically or it may simply work differently now because of that. As any internal power magician will tell you, yes, as an internal power magician we have the ability to generate any energy we want pretty much upon demand, but the part that gets left out on that is because your body is what’s generating that, there’s a tendency for the amount of energy being available to be, well, let’s just call it rather discreet, which is a polite way of saying you don’t really have that much of it. I challenge anyone—and I’ve said this before—to generate fire element very strongly down by the seaboard in the middle of a raging storm. Yeah, I mean you’re going to get a little bit of something but it’s not going to be that much. So these background energies associated with the different ages we live in are in fact rather important.

A good question to be asked is if I’m pulling on the power reservoir of a very old egregore, is this allowing me access to energies from essentially a different time period because they were stored at some point? It’s a good question—I don’t really know the answer to that—but that’s something that an enterprising practitioner out there might be able to shed some light on. The whole point of this discussion is just because things worked a certain way at a certain point in time does not necessarily mean they work that way now. We already know for a fact that the value of karma is not static; it actually changes over time—that is an interesting discussion in its own right. But for those of you here today I would encourage you to ponder how magic could simply have changed over the different ages based off of the energies that were available to be worked with, hence this relationship between the zodiac magic and you.

Franz Bardon – Community Questions, by André Consciência

I have been asked to do a post on Franz Bardon community questions. After giving it some thought, instead of posting around asking for questions and waiting for the feed to be merciful to show it to others, I decided to take a look at what was going on in the main Franz Bardon’s Facebook groups. The questions in “Initiation” are mostly taken and adapted from “Students of Franz Bardon”, run by James Robson, the man behind Perseus Arcane Academy. The questions in Adepthood are for the most part taken and adapted from “Franz Bardon The Practice of Magical Evocation”, run by the author Nenad Talerman. The questions in “Magus” are mostly taken and adapted from wider Franz Bardon community discussions. I have left my own group, “Franz Bardon – The Spheres” aside, since I have already met most questions posted in there.

    Initiation

1 – Why do some people consider Franz Bardon’s work incomplete? Where does this perception come from, and what aspects of Bardon’s system are seen as lacking?

Bardon’s work is incomplete in a bad way only when people do not complete it. It is incomplete only in a good way when people complete it. This means because Bardon’s system is the most complete system I have known, it also takes the skills of masters of many different traditions to complete. It is not easy to achieve. It leaves space for people to resort to theory and criticize what they do not understand, or for practitioners to feel blocked and frustrated because they have no natural talent for magic and, before gaining it, cannot read between its lines. The system is incomplete in a good way when one completes it, for it will open your eyes to many other systems, and leave you able to specialize in whatever you see fit, be it an occult field or otherwise. You will also be able to realize the books by Bardon were but the tip of the iceberg, Bardon’s work below the tip is a whole living universe to which there is no known end.

2 – I’m struggling to bring the energy and elements together with enough density—the element comes through clearly but appears more like a fiery paste mixed with air. Any suggestions on how to refine or stabilize this?

You are good as it is. The element is ethereal. It is possible to materialize it fully, to our senses, but it is not an optimal situation, and will have good chances of resulting in damage to one of your three bodies or all three bodies. The state of flow of the elements – when you can manipulate the elemental fluids in a relaxed state – looks like you described.

Now, you materialize it fully by specializing on your sensory and extra-sensory training, and accumulating loads of elemental and vital fluid, so that your aura is like a sun in your everyday life, and expands beyond the perimeter of your house. A great concentration gives a great expansion, a great compression of this results in a great saturation, so much that it seems like the astral plane falls into the material plane. This is for later, if at all, after you finish all three books.

3 – For those who’ve passed Level 5 (IIH) with distinction, what are the essential conditions for mastering all aspects of elemental training?

The conditions are outlined in the book. But often overlooked is a poetic understanding of the elements. That can be achieved by practicing the soul mirror daily. To understand the elements (which we know physically) in the subtle planes you must understand and live and feel metaphorically, like a poet. I have also met many IIH practitioners at level 5 who still don’t know the difference between an intellectual idea and an emotion. Many are brain-dead. You cannot be a magician without the mind of a philosopher, a mathematician, an artist and a dancer. And this time, it is not a metaphor. You must cultivate yourself and awaken to all elements as a living being. The elements are not like a university course in which you pass some exams and that’s it. The elements are something you become. Likewise, the three bodies are of a nervous nature more than of a theoretical nature.

Our first and continuous contact with all of this as a ramifying organism is through the soul mirror. Make use of it.

4 – I’m curious: what step are you currently on, and what initially drew you to the path? Have your goals shifted since starting?

I have finished working through the three books some good years ago, for the first round. But I am always in some step. Right now I’m leaning more towards the Depth Point (IIH), the Sphere of Uranus (PME) and letter combinations (KTQ) longer than 4 used to open up whole astrological realms or for the instant creation of elementaries and automatic evocation. These three steps work together. I am fitting everything in this language, so as to learn to speak it as I speak Portuguese or English, that is, so as to have it being able to reproduce all the things I know, but this time in their place of origin.

5 – I’m wondering how to practically apply the Vital Energy techniques from Step II or Step III to support recovery alongside regular medicine. Has anyone had success using these methods to treat minor illnesses like a cold? Do you inhale wellness and exhale sickness, or focus Vital Energy into the lungs and throat with an intention of healing? I’m mainly looking for practical ways to use Vital Energy beyond meditation or long-term character work.

The most important thing in recovering from sickness, is acceptance. Then everything you do with vital energy can contribute to a speedy recovery or eventually make it worse. If you are suffering from inflammation, vital energy must feel relaxed, or you will inflame it further. If you obsess about the sickness and keep throwing it thoughtful energy, the sickness itself will be vitalized instead of your recovery. It is all about the attitude of your mind. Wellness is in the “I Am.” Bardon would tell you to remove time and space from consciousness and affirm “I Am Healthy”, defining the command within the vital energy. But many don’t know how to do this with enough certainty, “I am Healthy” brings “I am not healthy” attached and there comes the wolf dressed in lamb’s skin. I say use “I Am.” I am! That will heal you.

6 – Does anyone have insights on the positioning of Initiation into Hermetics (IIH) within the context of other key initiatory materials in early 20th-century Germany, especially before or separate from the Fraternitas Saturni? I’m curious about Bardon’s choices in composing IIH, especially in relation to systems by Brandler-Pracht, Lomer, and others like Hans Muller and Quintscher. Have any comparative studies been made regarding what Bardon included or omitted from these other works? Any additional key works worth exploring?

To my knowledge, there is no comparative study, but it would be interesting to read such a thing.

While Bardon was influenced by various traditions and occultists I find his work, put together step by step, is distinct enough from contemporaneous systems.

Karl Brandler-Pracht’s “Lehrbuch zur Entwicklung der okkulten Kräfte” and Georg Lomer’s “Lehrbriefe” offered valuable systems for self-initiation, with mental exercises and character development. However, they were not as deeply into the practical aspects of elemental mastery and the work with the astral fluids as Bardon’s IIH. Bardon was likely influenced by their works and may have chosen to incorporate elements from Lomer’s writings into IIH, due to their practical applicability and alignment with his own experiences and teachings. Let’s say Bardon expands on foundations laid by others, as do we all, but becoming more comprehensive.

In any case, I vividly recommend “How to Develop Your Occult Powers” by Brandler-Pracht to the practitioner, it will get him to see from another angle (but in similar style) many of the exercises in IIH (especially in the beginning of IIH, and often in greater detail), and will complement it with some new valuable exercises, like “The Magnetic Gaze”, “Telepathy”, “Idealistic Monism & Producing Dreams”, many details in “The Healing Power of Magnetism”, and the whole Part Three lays many interesting seeds for the Bardon’s Adept. That being said, I do not recommend giving extreme importance to the subchapters “Harmony”, “Harmony Through a Natural Diet”, “Harmony through Hygiene”, and in sum, Chapter 1 of Part II has a lot of bad ideas for the modern age and as dangerous for the physical or psychological health today as they must have been at the time. Having IIH available, it’s best to avoid “How to Develop Your Occult Powers” from Chapter I of Part II up to chapter 4 of Part II, being that some oriental techniques are taught with flaws, are bad for the body, and would need a live instructor anyway.

Seven Hermetic Letters, by Georg Lomer, is his only influential book on Bardon’s work. A good complement if you wish to visit hermetics through a more philosophical and poetic style and a more contemplative approach. It is less practical and somewhat less structured.

Regarding Hans Albert Müller’s Der hermetische Bund teilt mit, I could not read it, but I am guessing this book was a greater influence on Bardon’s fourth (and interrupted) book, due to the similarity in the contents. What we know is that Muller’s order “Orden zur Weltvollendung” (Order of World Fulfillment), of which Franz Bardon was a member, was quite influenced by Bardon himself.

Now Quintscher, he is a great mystic and both him and Bardon got most of the seals they use from Silas. As a good mystic as Quintscher may be, he is not a good magician in my opinion (he uses more ceremony and ritual than Bardon, but seems to express all its components from a mystical perspective). Wilhem Quintscher is the lens of Adonism when Bardon is the lens of Hermeticism. Why I find Quintscher extremely useful, and influential in my books as well, is because as an Adept I can make great use of his works, but I could never have become an Adept via Quintscher. In other words, Quintscher is good in that he offers additional materials to work with, but you can only work with them effectively if trained by Bardon or another competent system. The exciting aspect about both put together is that both are working with the exact same hierarchies and so on. So if you are a connoisseur of Bardon, you may expand this universe by studying Quintscher.

Finally, for additional key works, I would go outside the German or Czech circles. Book Four by Aleister Crowley was influential to Franz Bardon and was translated by him to his students. But don’t forget the founders, like Agrippa, and further back, Paracelsus.

7 – I’ve been doing vital energy pore breathing (40 reps, morning and night) and initially felt great—but over the past week, I’ve started feeling sick when I breathe it in, with discomfort in my eyes and ears. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be related to the practice, or might it be something else entirely?

It all depends on which step you are at. If you have attained a deep level of magical equilibrium, both in terms of quantity with the fluids and their equanimous and gradual accumulations, and of quality in the soul mirror, vital accumulation should be relatively safe. Any other case, and you should breathe out what you breathe in.

This is more or less the common knowledge regarding these things, and it is not wrong per see, or rather it is more right than wrong. However, I wish to push the case beyond these limitations. First, it is never too much to stress the qualitative side of this, i.e. the soul mirror work. Many use it for character alone and forget to analyze all magical operations via this same end. It is similar to an alchemist allowing himself to constantly work with corrupted materials and expect success.

Magic is a laboratory, everything we put in, every tiny thought that slips in, emotion or sensation, will define the direction of the operation. Observe very well. “Ora et labora”. You wish for everything to be pure when you practice, not unlike the ceremonial magician wearing all his or her addresses and tools (and knowing and incorporating all their qualities) before magical evocation.

Ignorance is also a bad trait, and I find there is a portion of it when it comes to vitality in hermetics. The common dictionary tells us that vitality is “the state of being strong and active; energy.” Thus we understand vitality as active energy, yang. You breathe it in intensely and extensively and get headaches, naturally, for what you are doing is cultivating elemental imbalance. Your air (ears) and fire (eyes), the active elements, become oversaturated and with no passive energy to balance them and make them healthy. It could happen that then ignorance leads us to think that vitality, since it indicates liveliness and life force, is active, then the passive counterpart is being dormant, dull or dead. That is wrong, and more akin to neutrality than to passivity, once passivity exists with as much vitality as activity.

Let us now forget the common dictionary, because when it comes to hermetics, vitality is chi, it is the life force between passive and active energy that permeates them both. So there you are, thinking of breathing vitality in, and because you define it as active energy you are breathing a form of the electric fluid. But since you are still in the first steps, you do not really understand in practice what the electric fluid or the magnetic fluid or the electromagnetic fluid is. What you must think, then, is that you are breathing in energy that balances all energies in you. That is the true meaning of life force and vitality, that which makes us healthy: balance, equilibrium, effortlessness in the Daoistic sense.

8 – Can a practitioner transfer their consciousness into another being—perhaps even across a family bloodline—creating a form of spiritual continuity or “eternal life”? And if so, would this be an evolution of the path or a form of energetic overreach, raising ethical questions around identity, immortality, and spiritual responsibility?

Starting from the end, simply transferring to another body (you said being but the question is only logical, due to its implications, if we consider you meant body) is not an evolution of the path. It is a neutral act. If you believe we die and reincarnate, that is what we keep doing in any case. But then it must mean you are talking not about transferring one’s consciousness into another body, but one’s identity. Immortality is not touched by this ethical situation, being an eternal principle, and identity itself is not an issue. So the only thing affected is spiritual responsibility.

If you mean stealing another’s body, that seems to me to be the same as murder, certainly not ethical. The good news is in Bardon’s system it is not possible. When you transfer into another person, the idea is you transfer into the person’s identity as well. Transference of consciousness requires letting go of your identity and gaining greater awareness in return.

9 – Sorry if this is a basic question, but is there any known connection between Franz Bardon and Carl Jung? I’m reading about Jung’s ideas on individuation and noticing strong parallels—like Bardon’s black/white mirror and Jung’s differentiation, or vital force and libido energy. Any sources or thoughts on this?

I always recommend a practical study of psychology to students and practitioners of Franz Bardon, and Jung is a great way to start. I am happy to draw some parallels for you.

    The most evident are:

    conjoining Jung’s “Psychological Types” and “Aion” (for shadow/Self interplay) with Bardon’s Initiation Into Hermetics, Step 1–3;

Conjoining Bardon’s Vital Force or Od with Jung’s concept of the Libido, for which you can work Jung’s “Symbols of Transformation” together with Bardon’s sections on Vital Energy Accumulation (Step 2); in other words, use Bardon’s conscious breath control and mental focus with Jung’s libido redirection through symbol and active imagination.

    Conjoin Jung’s “Four Archetypes” and “Man and His Symbols”, with Bardon’s Step 3 Elemental Equilibrium Work, that is, Bardon’s elemental equilibrium should match Jung’s balanced psyche;

    To the black soul mirror add repressed traits, to magical equilibrium add the integration of self, both authors stress balance and self-awareness before any serious work can begin (whether magical or psychological);

Try combining Jung’s active imagination with Bardon’s elemental meditations. Treat fire, water, air, earth as forces that are also psychic archetypes.

    To the less obvious now:

    Bardon teaches that we have three bodies: mental, astral, and physical, each corresponding to a plane of reality. Development requires harmonization among them. Jung divides the psyche into conscious, personal unconscious, and collective unconscious. The conscious resides in the mental body, the personal unconscious in the astral body, the collective unconscious in the physical body. Knowledge of this will improve self-perfection and the exercises, making them more holistic;

Pair IIH with Red Book, in the following manner:

    – When observing thoughts begin active imagination and write down inner dialogues,

    – When creating soul mirrors identify shadow figures;

    – When practicing single-pointed thought let images develop autonomously into symbolic imagination;

    – For each element, identify a corresponding inner archetype. Use active imagination to explore and integrate each.

Then use Steps 5 to 8 to explore the Red Book’s mythic landscape as a magician, not just a reader.

Use the final practices of mystical union and godform realization to attain your Encounter with the Self, and your symbolic death and rebirth.

PME + Man and His Symbols

Now use the techniques in The Practice of Magical Evocation to meet Jung’s Universal Archetypes. Know that the beings of PME grant access to these Universal Archetypes necessarily, that the circle represents the totality of the self and the wok within it intentional individuation. Know that your magical tools move your unconscious and that an evocation cannot take place without active imagination occurring. Know no temple setup forms a temple without an inner sacred space. Know clairvoyance and clairaudience brings deep symbolic perception and amplification, and vice versa.

Finally, KTQ with Jung’s Psychological Types:

Know that when you engage a letter in the akasha you are activating Intuition, when you engage a formula in the mental plane you are activating thinking, performing quabbalah on the astral you are activating feeling, and on the material you are activating sensing. Now, whether you are activating these, for instance, in the corresponding body or corresponding plane, indicates the introverted or extraverted factor, respectively. Therefore, The Key to the True Quabbalah brings forth the simultaneous engagement of all Psychological Types delineated by Jung.

All such suggestions having been given, add Jung’s methods only after mastering Bardon’s corresponding steps, lest a system gets in the way of the other.

10 – When pore breathing, is it easy to replace one element with another, or is more needed? I’ve been working with fire and noticing people around me getting agitated—could this be related? Any insights?

It could be related. But it depends on what you let in with the fire. Is it a divine fire blessed with focus and willpower? If so, people will be focused around you, and feel blessed. If not, people will get agitated and you will too, sooner or later. Now I’m not sure what you mean by replacing one element with another. What you need is the balance of all four.

Put another way, if you look at it, during your IIH training you start by breathing in wishes into your blood and so forth. You feel these wishes in their fulfilment state, and you breed them in. Then, you substitute the feeling of specific wishes for the feeling of the elements, and you do just the same. Now, it may come to be, and most often is, that when you are breathing fire you begin to absorb as well all free-associations your mind is prone to, such as fire’s agitation, and the allowed connection between agitation and interference with free will and a sovereign state of mind (which leads to people around you feeling agitated). That is why, in all kinds of magic, a good filter is crucial. That is why in IIH it is important to observe one’s thoughts, and even more important is one-pointed concentration, so those free associations do not dissipate power. That is why journaling everything is essential, as well, so we know which things are interfering.

You want to be working with the good fire, with the strong and strengthening fire, with a blessed and blessing fire, with a lucky and luck-giving fire, with a focused, stabilised fire. Don’t throw yourself randomly at the fluids. Nature is merciful and nature is cruel, and you, the magician, are amplifying its powers. If a magician is not wise, he becomes broken before becoming a magician. That is how Providence makes sure magicians are wise.

Finally, giving a bit more consideration to your question on how an element can be turned into another, you can do it

via the akasha: let’s say you want to turn water into fire. You bring your cool emotion into the akasha and have it come back as fiery will. Some orders use the drawing of the pentagrams for such feats. Alchemists use circulatio.

via simple self-control, which you are supposed to have gained in Step 1. Thus, you turn fear (water imbalance) into courage (fire balance).

via the elemental fluids. If you have excess fire, wet it out by accumulating water.

11 – What’s the most effective advice you have for restoring elemental balance and equilibrium in the body after it’s been disrupted?

The usual way to set and keep equilibrium is fourfold. For once, you need to take care of the psychological aspect, as it influences the body. This means keeping your soul mirror balanced (and remember the soul mirror should cover everything, including physical health). Then, you take care of your astral body by making sure your astral senses are equally evolved in their active and passive aspects. The active aspect is tested via active imagination of sounds, tastes, images, and so on, created by you and felt in the outside. The passive is defined by the practice of the so-called extra-sensory abilities, and ensuring your clairvoyance, clairaudience and so on are equally in shape. Finally, you work the etheric body by accumulating the elements and the electric and magnetic fluids in equal amount either by layers in your aura and distributed through the whole body, or by compressing them in the corresponding parts of the body. Lastly, you apply a diet that balances the elements in equal parts but still respects nutritionist rules, and apply exercise that covers any weak points in the body, and work with your doctor to treat any illnesses that might be disrupting your organism.

Finally and what I think is never said enough, is that in any disruption, in whatever body we are referring to (be it physical, astral or mental), it is necessary to understand what equilibrium means in this stage, achieving it, and progressing only then, when possible. When I was practicing in The Order of Michael’s Grail my Initiator told me each grade has a different kind of magical equilibrium, it is often like that as well in the different stages of our life and of our health.

12 – Is it possible for a student with aphantasia to successfully develop clairvoyance?

Yes. First, I believe many practitioners suffering from aphantasia have a wrong notion about what visualization means, and define it only via images. Seeing an image is never a magical act unless the image is completed by all other senses, intellectual faculties, and by a deep feeling. At the end of the day, you don’t need to be able to see anything to practice magic, it is as much a tool as the wand is. I have trained with a practitioner who is blind from birth, and who is very good at visualization.

With extra-sensory abilities it goes more or less the same way. With clairvoyance the medium is visual, but the visuals come with all other extrasensory abilities if it is to be effective. With clairfeeling or clairsentience the medium is feeling, but feeling will reveal visuals, sounds and so on.

That being said, if you learn visualization in the true sense of the word, which is the presence of what we imagine, in all possible senses, if the visual aspect isn’t your strong it will likely erupt naturally, instigated by all other senses, and that when it finally becomes unnecessary and is released from burden. When I am training people in Shamanism I blindfold them and get them exploring the woods. While it is true the other senses become more alive, what happens is the students eventually learn to see with their eyes folded. They see the trees by their presence, their visual aspect is replaced by a sense of light and shadow, and eventually they see better than with their eyes unveiled.

The other day I, as a puppeteer, was in a conversation on puppets. A person in the audience, after some drinks, asked if it was possible to do an invisible puppet. The host of the debate answered that all puppets are invisible, perceived via the space around them and the empty space in the scenario that is being occupied by the puppet. It was this effect that gave life to a lifeless object. This is an allegory.

Finally, people often say they cannot form images in their mind, but then I ask them about their favorite toy during childhood, how it looked, and the details are quite alive still. Confronted with that, sometimes it is still the case the student answers he or she cannot see the image that has been formed, but there is a knowledge of this image, and a deep feeling of it. Work with that, and work often. You can teach colors to the blind (to be fair, the physically blind don’t need anyone to teach them), and it is more or less easy.

As a final note, something to meditate upon: Clairvoyance isn’t learning to see as we usually do. Clairvoyance is learning to see through the medium of divine light.

Exploring the Profound Meaning in Andre Consciencia’s Occult Works

    Adepthood

1 – Last night during my breathing exercises, I relaxed deeply and got close to leaving my body—but every time I reached the edge, I’d snap back in. Is there a common reason for this kind of blockage or difficulty with astral projection?

Simply put, it’s called fear of letting go. Also do not focus on the edge of your body since that means staying within its confines. Your body leaves because your body is now the mental body: for the time being, you have no physical body at all.

2 – Can anyone share how Bardon’s Kabbalah is used within his magical system? Specifically, are elemental spirits involved in Kabbalistic work like pathworking or the Tree of Life? How are spirits and magical words used in practice?

Bardon’s quabbalah is not directly or at least apparently related to the spheres or the tree of life. It’s a manner of magical intonation. Even in regular hermetic kabbalah, the elementals usually only have a place on Malkhut. I have found elemental realms and elementals in all spheres via Bardon’s cosmic letters practiced within the spheres of their corresponding tones, and you can study this at my A Guide to Sphere Quabbalah, but this is an advanced and unusual topic.

You use a spirit to know universal consciousness within a specific cosmic personality. You use the words to know a universal function and awareness within and without. As for the first part of the question, Bardon’s Kabbalah is used within his magical system instead of beings as a grammar of invocation and evocation of divine qualities and quantities. The large number of letter combinations can have any possible outcome. If not for you requiring previous training to activate this language, it would reproduce all the training that got you here but effortlessly, this means it takes the place of meditative disciplines and magical ritual, like a top of the pyramid that elevates the whole pyramid to its peak.

3 – Why did Bardon advise against making contracts with spirits—even positive ones? That seems a bit strange.

A contract is usually a metaphor for dependency. You have your spirit and willpower, the being has its own. If your comfort starts depending on the spirit and willpower of another being, your structure begins to split from your centre, and you begin to decompose as an entity.

4 – Where are the actual Laws of Analogy for each Sphere written? If we access a Sphere like the Sun via sigil and imagination, are we truly receiving universal laws—or just personal, symbolic impressions shaped by our subconscious?

In The Practice of Magical Evocation, where else? There, each sphere is described as having a function and a nature. You need these instructions to guide you to the right place, but you also need symbolic impressions shaped by your subconscious: you need it to read this article, too. And you know what? It is personal to me, and it is personal to you. It can still convey universal principles. Alas, that is what the personal is for.

5 – Since Bardon’s system (PME) is about dominating spirits, not making pacts, what does it mean if one successfully controls a spirit like Emtub (pg. 303), who governs karma and fate? Wouldn’t that level of access override personal free will or even place someone just a step below divinity, like Metatron?

Just a step below divinity, like Metatron? One hopes so, right? Although there would likely be difficulties fitting into human society. But yes, the answer is yes. Control Emtub (power with) in the full sense and you are something like Metatron. Emtub doesn’t care about personal free will. He needs not to override it. The river runs because it is in its nature. And you do (run) too. So does your similar.

6 – Hello everyone, I’d like to hear your thoughts on the moon’s effect on magical work. Personally, I find my magic works excellently when the moon is waxing, from child to full, but struggles when it’s waning towards the new moon. Also, my practice seems to be most effective in rainy weather. Does anyone else experience similar patterns?

Rainy is good because it enhances magnetism, and thus the manifestation of phenomena. Waxing is good for building, and waning for dissipating. Magic is not about what is good or bad, face it like that and you may find yourself in the place of the pawn. Magic is about what is good or good.

7 – I have a question about the relationship between Venus and Islam. Friday, which is the holy day for Muslims, coincides with Venus’ day. Additionally, rose scents and rose water, which are associated with Venus, are commonly used in our culture. I also notice that some of Allah’s names, such as “Ar-Rahman” (The Most Merciful) and “Al-Jalil” (The Majestic), seem to have a connection to Venus. Does anyone have more insight into the connection between Venus, its entities, and Islam, especially regarding the beautiful names of Allah?

Muslisms have removed any planetary references to the days of the week. That being said, the sixth day is the day Adam entered paradise through God and left paradise via temptation. So here you have something of the nature of Venus, a paradise that, via its strong pull, can enlighten or cause one to fall from it. Mercy is more commonly attributed to Jupiter, and so is Majesty.

For Muslim names related to Venus perform Tafakkur and then Dhikr with Al Jamil (The Most Beautiful), Al-Wadud (The Most Loving) and An-Nur (The Light), you will have then a way to invoke Allah, in his Venusian aspect, to the material plane, the astral plane, and the mental plane correspondingly.

8 – IIH suggests it’s possible to light a candle through sheer will using Bardon’s system. Do you believe this is true or have you witnessed it?

When first training through IIH, I tried often, to be fair, but the inflammable fluid condenser didn’t work that way, and the candle didn’t light up. I was left with a compact tiny ball of light or spark in the place of the wick’s tip, and when I removed the candle, the light and heat would remain in the same place. I have also never seen someone else do it. I can, however, control the flame of a candle that has been lit, move it in any direction, make it flicker or stabilize, make it grow or diminish. And once working with Bael, in my early days as a magician, the spirit made my candle (already lit) explode like a bomb, and set the roof on fire. So, I know for sure it is possible to control the flame of a candle in intense ways, but I have never seen an incorporeal being light one, like in the movies.

During a Christmas lunch, my now late grandmother (then alive) gave a sermon, sang in tongues for half an hour while manifesting lights, perfumes and breezes. By the time she finished, the curry had gone completely cold. She raised her hands and, after seconds, the pot started to smoke. So if we can control air and heat in this way, I’d say it’s likely possible to light a candle. Is it possible to do it as Bardon teaches? I don’t know. All I know is I can’t do it, at least yet.

9 – Is it possible for someone to cause plants to grow or wither through focused concentration?

Yes. That is easy. I teach some methods in The Way of Abrahadabra (sold out at the moment of this article, but with a second edition on the way) and in the upcoming Beyond the Veil of Illusion (Falcon Books Publishing). I vividly recommend working with the vegetable kingdom, we learn a lot.

10 – What is the esoteric meaning of “URGAYA” in Bardon’s work?

This is the method by which I practice the name of this being (mentioned in Frabrato) as a formula:

The first stage is practiced throughout the planes

1 – U, gift “the original source of everything that exists in all its forms will be revealed to him so that he will fully comprehend it and have it close at hand in his consciousness”, akasha

2 (1+1) – R, responsibility (how the source relates to the source) “to accept missions to serve Divine Providence with deep humility, immense gratitude and highest devotion without losing the feeling of absolute freedom of will”; mind

3 (1+2) – G, the manner of carrying that responsibility (how the source relates to responsibility) “divine peace in the spirit”, mental plane

4 (1+2+3) – A, the manner of accomplishing that responsibility (how the divine peace of the source is communicated) “the language of symbols and its command and power”, astral body + astral plane

5 (1+2+3+4) – Y the gift given to the carriers of the first gift “comprehend and apply the absolute influence of the akasa principle on the material world with regard to all forms and bodies in the mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms”, material

6 (1+2+3+4+5) – The final A (the result of 4, embodiment of the language) seals the formula so it remains pure in “all ideas and in all forms of existence”, akasha loaded into a light-blue flower

the 5 results in 10, in mastery over all spheres (mastery over state)

the 6 results in 15, nondualism (mastery over being)

This defines three stages of maturity and adepthood within the Brotherhood of Light, since Initiation ends in the 4, the first A. Mastery over state (represented in the Y) has 360 adepts comprehending and applying the absolute influence of the akasa principle on the material world; mastery over becoming has 72 adepts (represented in the first A), and mastery over being has 12 adepts (final A).

The U shows the conscience of the Brotherhood of Light

The R shows the legality of the Brotherhood

The G shows the character of the Brotherhood

The first A shows the vitality of the Brotherhood

The Y shows the Brotherhood’s fertility

The second A reveals the mind of the Brotherhood

The second stage is performed by rising on the spheres all the way to the Sun and from there the U, from Venus performing the R, from Mercury performing the G, from the Moon performing the first A, from the Earth Belt Zone performing the Y, from the Earthzone performing the second A as previously taught. That is, from each higher sphere we influence our aspects from the lower sphere with the corresponding letter.

The third stage is in the following manner:

The sequence is changed. The U is performed in Neptune, continues to the A performed in Pluto, G in the Sun, A in the Moon Zone, the Y in the Earthzone belt, and all is put to action via the material plane through the R volted in the light oscillation of Mars. This way, the akasha breeds forth the highest ideas creating magical equilibrium. Magical equilibrium showers its divine blessings, resulting in the all-penetrating light that irradiates the physical world with consciousness and uplifts it.

The formula is made independent, self-preserved and set to motion with the volt of the letter R and the help of a red flower.

Now in “Frabrato the Magician”, Urgaya is a being that appears as the head of the Brotherhood of Light, ruling, we repeat, over three organs, one of 12 (The trinity of God represented in the twelve beings of Jupiter and the four elements of the tetragrammaton), one of 72 (360 gets 5 equal parts when divided by 72, the pentagrammaton expressed in the 72 names of God and the 72 beings of Mercury), and one of 360 (the whole circle, represented by the 360 days of a year and the 360 beings of the Zone Girdling the Earth).

Let’s see here that in the factors of 360 from 1 to 12 we count 10 factors, and from the next factor, 15, to 72, again 10. From there to 360, 4 factors. If 4 is 10 in the Tetragrammaton by the sum of its parts, as stated by Bardon (KTQ), then we have God expressed passively and actively in both tens.

The 12 signs (the electromagnetism of God) are the arenas of cosmic experience, the 72 names (the electromagnetism of Creation) are the forces acting within those, the 360° circle (God+Creation=The Son God, the individualization and descent of God in all 3 planes) is the field of total potential.

In magical language, we could say the 12 beings of Jupiter are the nouns of the divine (mastery over being), the 72 beings of Mercury are its verbs (mastery over becoming), and the 360° beings of the Earth Belt keep the grammar or syntax (the structure that binds them all – mastery over state).

Urgaya is single (1) yet I haven’t found Urgaya to be the head of Neptune (or Pluto). However, he does oversee cosmic equilibrium, defined by Neptune. As a being he is to be found, maybe, at least as an emanation from Neptune. But Urgaya is to me indeed, as a formula, a resume of the Brotherhood of Light in its completeness, instead of in its origin.

Finally, and back to the being’s Sanskrit etymology and consequent ontology away from quabbalah, I see Ur as Crowley’s “it” in Had and Nu, “to go”, activation, infusion, the ankh in the sandal of the gods. Gaya is the name of an Asura who follows Narayana. Narayana is the Source of all things, the Eternal, the Unchangeable, and Supreme Personality of Godhead that stands as an emanation rather than an incarnation of Vishnu (Divine Providence).

Now this Asura was given by this Narayana the purity to liberate anyone who touched him (similarly to Jesus absolving sins and healing by touch). But again, we may find a parallelism to the three orders (as to Jesus) when Gaya is sacrificed and divided into three for the foundation of the three temples: Brahma (creation, 12) Vishnu (preservation, 360) and Shiva (destruction, 72).

1 – Lovecraft’s “color out of space” seems similar to Bardon’s “transcendental” colors, which I’ve experienced not just visually but also through the skin of my mental body. Given this, I wonder if in Kabbalah, working with such a color would require a new modality or channel when using the Creative Word?

All quabbalistic colors should be experienced not only visually but in the mental, astral and physical skin. The divine light of the colors is presence, and this presence is so full that it touches. But yes, colors of the kind you just described require not only new channels and modalities, as new letters altogether. For once, the elements are not as we know them in the solar system. The senses change. And so do concepts (often) and the notion of planes.

This makes it so the elemental concentration changes nature (but we must still add one familiar element to make it work in our system of existence), the threefold concentration must be kept but more is added to it, and the four planes must be kept as a way of translation, but even the akasha remaining the akasha, a new angle of mind, astral and material plane must converge into our own (more often than not).

Now discovering one of these colors is sometimes like finding out a new dimension that will make all three dimensions in which the biological body perceives but a shadow. We can already taste this when we truly achieve the depth point of things and they seem to turn inside out. We are not looking from outside anymore, and what we perceive is not easily translated by our brain in objective terms, since the organ has not developed, for lack of practice, the rational language to elaborate it.

That is why, in The Way of Abrahadabra I do not teach the reader to create a mental body similar to our biological body, but attempt to leave the practitioner at home seeing in a 360º angle, to prepare the brain to translate more in-depth encounters during mental wandering, in which being is perceived occupying and animating space as a whole from a higher dimension. We are speaking here of four dimensions, but some of these lights imply hauntingly more dimensions.

I have touched up to eleven dimensions, and have been informed that there are about 30 available to us as cosmic travelers.

Let me give you an example that is close or influential enough to be described by biological perception: Sirius.

The color of Sirius is fairly easy to understand and not throughout alien, it is yellowish blue, and it is thus a kind of white but different from the usual white. You can learn about this color by getting a blue and a yellow square (digital light is preferred) next to each other and unfocusing your eyes until both squares meet and merge, or looking close enough to blur them into one color.

This light holds the totality of things and is radiated as the principle of the mind and absorbs via the electric fluid. The thing with this particular light is that when you push it towards the astral plane it turns white-blue, manifests as complete surrender, radiates as the digestive system of the material plane and absorbs via the principle of polarity. What is more, if you push it further down, it becomes rainbow color.

Now this rainbow color is harder to describe. This light can be produced by transmission, which is the movement of electromagnetism through a body. This means that the body, the material or the shape should neither absorb the light nor block it. It is the essential method of the Tao and requires complete transparency as one completely flows with their environment.

Sirius’ electromagnetic waves are the direct manifestation of the Akasha in the manifest world, and can be divided into seven forms of radiation, from the shorter and most saturated wave to the larger and most dissipate. These are as if the seven colors but in non-human terms and as a raw expression of the cosmos: the Gamma Ray is as the willpower of the cosmos, the X Ray is as if the thought-vibration of the cosmos, the ultraviolet is the beautifying harmony, the transcendental principle of the cosmos.

Visible light refers to cosmic experience. Infrared radiation leads back to devotion, where the magician projects back the witnessed and experienced transcendence into the invisible realm. Microwaves travel a direct path from the source to the receiver, and are of the shape of cosmic love. Radio waves, the offspring of lightening, are of cosmic power.

To humanity, they come from the realization that an electric and a magnetic field coupled together could travel through space, conquering matter and destroying silence to give rise to communication and a cosmopolite civilization.

All electromagnetic waves, in the vaccuum, travel at the speed of light, which is also to say that the volt, when placed in the akasha, can surpass distance and time to become again from cause to effect at any intented space and time. The micro and macrocosmic correspondences between the colors and the electromagnetic waves are of inverse polarity. The longest color wavelenght finds its analogy at the shortest electromagnetic wave, and the largest electromagnetic wave at the shortest color wavelenght.

Sounds complicated, but it can be made to work. Now regarding sound it is a rapid, high-frequency oscillation that is steady and majestic, icy and celestial. As it descends through the planes it starts to gain more modulation and getting a stronger feeling of vastness and depth. It sounds in base tone as the combination of D and F# with microtonal intervals slightly off from perfect, subtly phasing and flanging with a texture of crystalline bell upper tones.

Under it, there is a soft rumble that reminds one of an infinite gravity hidden in some occult mass. The letter is as strange as Sheeru, with the SH being soft and breathy, the EE sustained, long, glowing and full-bodied, the R being rolled, and the U as a rounded “oo”, evoking cosmic modulation. Let us not confuse this with a KTQ letter combination, this Sheeru is a single letter but it can indeed be divided to invoke the four-dimensional essence of Sirius’s mystical tone.

Sirius is, in esoteric terms, that occult Sun behind the Sun. While the Sun gives individuality to oneness by giving it qualities, Sirius sucks individuality back into nothingness, so that an undifferentiated light may appear.

So, to practice Sheeru mystically, that is, qualitatively, as described, is more or less fine, but to practice it quantitatively, since it contains all four elements but in quite a different mode, it can be the cause of alienation in our worldly system and also in some of the spheres. The electric fluid is here considered as hot plasma, and the magnetic as cold plasma.

The cold plasma is composed by Iron (a form of earth that is solid, heavy and introverted to the extreme) and ash (substituting water, being cold, volatile and dead). The air element is something between gas and liquid, and the fire element is an element of absorption, like radiation occurring through gravitational means. The Sh expresses the gas-liquid, the EE expresses Iron, the R expresses Fire, and the U expresses Ash.

Now the akasha here is not to be understood as the space in which all being and state exists, but the being in which all state and space exists; it should feel like we have become infinite through death, emanating directly from the absolute as the realm of plenitude and as YHVH.

All objects of perception (mental plane) appear as absolute, as unity, as the personified prima materia or light as a living whole, as the root of the ether.

The astral plane of Sirius perceives all objects as the holy of holies in its multiple faces.

The material plane is replaced by a healing silence within the minus pole.

In other words, the mind in Sirius observes in all things the observer, the soul in Sirius speaks the speaker, and what is done on the material plane is the doer.

The way the four-fold method when and if we make Sheeru as SH EE R U is distributed throughout the planes and the elements in terms of sensation, will be here left for the mature sphere quabbalist to find out.

Now the regions of the body attributed to this letter are the throat, forehead and hair, and to the threefold intonation we must add a sense of smell, a mix of almond flowers and ambergris perfume (still pertaining to sensation), and necessarily add the magnetic fluid of a devotional and consecrative quality (blue), and the electric fluid of willpower and prophecy (purple), which makes it a fivefold intonation.

The kind of magical trance to begin uttering this formula is also unusual, as we are to imagine the whole universe as a sucking black hole and transfer to its depth-point to become as the speed of light, that is, as a spider able to work her spiral web of space and time, building it and rebuilding it at any place she see fits to rebuild reality, her silk the seminal fluid of the Sun.

So again, we get comfortable with this letter qualitatively before we seek to insist quantitatively. We balance it by inserting elements of our system of magic as we know it in the solar circle. After doing all preparations we formulate the light of this letter in Neptune, in all its variants. We then train this by adding the sound in Uranus, and the sensation in Saturn. Then we add the electric component in Jupiter and from there we also manifest the mangentic component in Mars.

Finally, we start mounting the quantitative components by adding the fire element of Sirius in the Sun and from there manifest adding the other elements, sequentially, down to the Moon where we may practice the full letter qualitatively as well as quantitatively with relative safety while moving all spheres up to Neptune with us.

One way to operate in the Earthzone directly is to dilute the letter in formulas within the solar circle (or system). The following formula is optimal (being cumulative):

    Akasha: Sheeru

Mental: SheeruB (gives Sheeru familiar electromagnetic qualities)

Astral: SheeruMAe (slows down the oscillation of Sheeru to a familiar rhythm)

Material: SheeruSAC (articulates Sheeru through a familiar system, functioning as a translator)

Without practicing it in one of the ways outlined, it will be hard for the biological brain to retain the characteristics and effects of this letter, and although with habituation this may change, so may our nature be modified in ways that hardly fit the current human way of life.

2 – Bardon briefly mentions in KTQ that mudras can be used with Kabbalistic formulas. I’m currently exploring runic hand gestures and body postures, considering how they might be integrated into the KTQ method. If anyone has already explored this, please share your thoughts!

The Runes themselves can be practised via Bardon’s quabbalistic methods, you only have to change the letters received by Bardon to the letters received by Odin via whatever sage was transmitting it. I am presently writing a book on this subject, as I remember my old initiator changing KTQ entirely to the runic system, and I plan to master my own methods. I can only be sure of my success in this when I can teach it almost by improvisation.

As I have been focusing on teaching my students directly, my time for writing has been scarcer, and it might or might not take a while. Luckily enough, meanwhile, two of my past books are still to be released by their publishers. One holds a system of Venusian liturgy to influence dreams and waking life alike, and the other a compilation of lessons learnt from the sphere of the Sun, the sphere of Mars and the sphere of Jupiter.

Be that as it may, I have worked with a seer who uses flowers in Bardon’s Quabbalah, and a magician who has adapted the Cosmic Letters to the Ogham alphabet of trees, working with trees directly and different Ogham postures. I have tried the methods of both to great satisfaction. Both the flowers and the trees, in different ways, are able to harmonize any imbalance in our practice, and expand the effects of the letters, as well as to absorb any backfire and often prosper from it.

Back to the central point of the question, my suggestion is for you to use the runes as they were meant to be used, as a magical language not unlike KTQ at all, and add then the hand gestures and postures. This will bring great cohesion. However, to Bardon’s quabbalistic formulas you can add all kinds of ritual components, the runic ones included.

You may have seen me use many yogic asanas (still or moving) together with cosmic letters in A Guide to Sphere Quabbalah, and I will likewise give an example regarding a runic body posture.

To simplify it, I will pick a rune that matches one of Bardon’s cosmic letters in most essential aspects. Say you are working the cosmic letter M, you may wish to extend it with the Stodhur of laguz (the phonetic l in the futhark system). This means water as vital fluid and growth, and the visual aspect of the rune shows a wave. In laguz is the vitality and nutrition of all universes (the primordial waters of Niflheimr), and this rune seems to be as much the root of water as the cosmic letter M.

It has some additional components also present in the M as the fluid principle, for in these waters are all the cosmic and human actions nurturing the future of all life-forms.

To add to it, this rune encapsulates within the form of the leek (green onion or French garlic). This laukaz (or itrlaukr) is a phallic symbol of organic growth and of physical and spiritual fertility, and rules over Norse herbal magic (the lyf or lac-nunga tradition). Now the primordial waters become the waters inside the severed phallus of Osiris, hermetically speaking.

These are the fertilized waters of Neptune, the waters of Niflheimr (minus) that have caught the fires of Muspellsheimr (plus) for the power of aptrburdhr (rebirth, more or less similar to the Christian baptism by water and fire).

By standing, extending your arms to the front and down with palms facing down you are practicing the Stodhur (posture) of laguz on top of the cosmic letter M, and you get the power to successfully undergo your initiations, you maximize your vitality and vital power, you augment your power of transmutation in the soul mirror work, your magnetic reservoir grows and your extrasensory abilities grow with it.

Now, in runic magic there are usually eight colors that can be applied to any of the runes, plus the inherent color of the rune. One can practice in the seven realms (each divided by three planes: past, present and future) and numbers are also important, just as in Quabbalah, but I will leave all that aside in this context.

To further enrich this example it should be sufficient to say this rune would in Asgard (akashic analogy) represent the principle of emotion as a blessing that empowers all that is good, in Alfheim (analogy with the mental plane) the fluid law, in Svartalfheim (analogy with the astral plane) life, and in Midgard (analogy with the material plane) growth. The color of the rune is green.

You may see the intrinsic aspects of the cosmic letter M in this rune, and because this rune works wonders when combined with the willow or the leek, you may see now M will also fare well with these, and that both can find an iconographic medium in the Star arcanum of the Tarot.

And this is the pearl I wished to give you. By combining the letter M and Laguz, you will easily be able to work the magical animation of pictures in this card, and to bring it to true life. That is, by the combined powers of M and Laguz you can have the daughter of this marriage incarnate as a living being or personification in the physical and pictographical card of the star.

3 – In KTQ, there are formulas that can perform incredible feats, like controlling the seas or parting the Red Sea. Does anyone have a favorite formula from the book that left them amazed?

Anything can be said to do anything, the problem is doing it. Controlling the seas is not extremely hard, but parting the Red Sea is most likely symbolic. It is not so much about the Red Sea being parted, but about it being crossed instead of navigated. It means faith and clarity opening the way through chaos and includes a baptismal tone to it. The red waters are the unconscious, Moses is conscious wisdom, and the Hebrews being guided are the automatic self.

In this three-letter formula, L-A-W, said to open the Red Sea, L stands for magical equilibrium, A stands for the symbolic language, and W for mysticism. So what happens is it was the tradition of wisdom of the Hebrews that managed to individuate itself in the face of Ancient Egyptian culture.

This can be said of all waters: a magical equilibrium that is passed through a symbolic tradition engaged via mysticism is able to save the soul, to separate its waters and bring it from chaos to the nutritive harmony and beauty of the fluid principle. One can actually see, as with other specified Bardon formulas, the play between the formula and the English word it makes seen (law).

This is, mythologically speaking, not so much an attack on Ancient Egyptian dogmas as it is an allegorical illustration of the way out of bondage and towards liberation.

In fact, so do the Ancient Egyptians have similar known formulas via their liturgy, like the spell 99 of The Book of the Dead:

“O bringers of the ferry over this difficult sandbank
Bring me the ferry, tie for me the cords, in peace, in peace
Come, come, hasten, hasten, I have come to see my father Osiris
O lord of the red cloth, who has power over joy
O lord of the tempest, man of the sailing
O he who sails over this sandbank of Aapep
O binder of heads, fastener of necks, in the emergence from the knives
O keeper of the secret ferry, guard of Aapep
Bring me the ferry, tie for me the cords, that I may emerge from it,
this difficult land in which the overturned fall on their faces
and are unable to raise themselves
Hensua tongue of Ra, Indebu guide of the Two Lands,
    Mengeb, with their steering-oars,
That is the power that opens the sun-disk, master of the red
Bring me, do not make me boatless.
Come spirit, my brother, proceed to the place you know there”

In fact, one of the formulas I myself pretty much enjoy is a similar one, G-A-W, and I have first discovered it in the same Papyrus of Ani:

“As if I had slept a thousand years underwater, I wake up in a new season. I am the blue lotus that rises. I am the cup of dreams and memory that opens – I, the flower with a thousand petals At dawn, the sun rises naked like a newborn; I open and am penetrated by the light, the slow awakening in the fire while the petals bloom. open one by one, while the fingers that held the secret unfold I abandon the past and release the scent of flowers.

“I open and the light descends, filling me and passing through, each blue petal reflecting perfectly in the clear water. I am this lotus filled with light reflected in the world. I float contented within myself, flower of a thousand petals, a life lived a thousand years without haste, a universe sparkling with a thousand stars, a god living among a thousand people.

“If you stood one summer morning on the shore under the brilliant sky, you would see the thousand petals and say that together they form the lotus. But if you lived in its heart, invisible from the outside, you would see perhaps how the ecstasy of its fragrant core gives birth to its thousand petals What is beautiful is always what is itself in its essence, a certainty of being. I marvel at myself and others. things of the earth.”

But my favorite formula is likely MAAT, read and formulated in the following fashion:

M (the principle of fluidness) A (truth) A (poetic inspiration) T (interconnectedness).

This formula gave us all worthy writers, artists, philosophers, inspirational leaders and the like. You will be able to see the play between this formula and the name of the Ancient Egyptian Goddess who rules over Order and Balance, who rules over Law.

4 – Has anyone tried applying the Godhead method (Step 10 in IIH) to Kabbalistic formulas? Any insights or ideas on how to integrate them effectively?

Before I go on about how to integrate the Godhead method into the formulas, let me speak of how to integrate the formulas into the Godhead method. Formulate ShAAeE in the akasha, this formula contains all four divine aspects and being a four-letter formula will manifest all the way to the material plane. This will set you in the state of the Godhead.

Then, fine-tune it to form via C in the akasha, either you apply it to the painting or figurine of your personal God, or you apply it to your own shape in front of the mirror until resuming a semblance and posture that is truly divine even in the physical plane.

This being done, you can vibrate the letters that go into the akasha in the head (now transfigured by omnipotence), the letters that go into the mental plane in the chest (omniscience), the letters that go into the astral plane in the abdominal region (eternity), and the letters that go into the material plane in the limbs (omnipresence).

It is immaterial if you are using your divine head, chest, etc, or those of the figure of your personal god, but the letters should be vibrated from the depth point of head, chest, abdominal region and, when in the limbs, from the depth-point of the whole body, manifesting all four divine qualities.

Let us take the example of L-A-W, we would manifest it in the abdominal region, through the depth-point of the place of immortality. Immortality contains omnipotence to go against all odds and omniscience, since it covers all knowledge in time (likewise, emotion, tied to the abdominal region, needs the friction between will and cognition, or the intestine is controlled by the brain and fed by the stomach). This means omnipotent mysticism, omniscient symbolism and eternal magical equilibrium.

When I was training with my old mentor we would always open or seal the formulas with the four divine qualities by removing time and space from the subconscious, for instance: “Omnipotent, Omniscient, Immortal and Omnipresent G-A-W, manifest omnipresently, eternally, omnisciently and omnipotently.”

5 – At what point in the Practice of Magical Evocation is it optimal for the student to begin Kabbalistic formula work? While one might look to the genii contacted via evocation for timing, a more general framework for this crossover point would be helpful.

You may begin at any stage. It is optimal to visit the spheres first in order to expand consciousness and prepare your brain for more abstract living principles, but you have visited them at the final stages of IIH already. So now you can begin at any time, as long as you do it as Bardon teaches. Bardon has set the stage for you: you have the tool of a creator, but aren’t yet one.

Now, to understand the real origin of the Key that is the real Key to true Quabbalah, you start in Uranus. That is where you understand that this key is the key used by Bardon to devise his own system, but it is transversal to all things and crosses way beyond Bardon’s system. “Now I am become Life, the creator of worlds.”

This inversed quote is true of the so-called transplutonian quabbalistic exploration, with all kinds of applications below. The technique itself, however, to us in our kingdom of mimic, means mostly dissecting qualities and powers and obtaining a mnemonic alphabet with which to reproduce them methodically in the consciousness that exists throughout our multiple bodies while being able to project them (the qualities and powers) in the very planes these bodies inhabit.

This is how in The Path of Ipsos vol I, I develop a quabbalah of the mineral kingdom components, a quabbalah of the vegetable kingdom components and one of the animal kingdom components. This is how, as well, in my The Path of Ipsos Vol II I dedicate 300 pages to the quabbalah of the chemical elements, which will lead one, in advanced stages of research and exploration, to the same ends as Transplutonian Sphere Quabbalah.

Franz Bardon, Kabbalah & Purification: An Interview with Alexandre Moryason

    Introduction

In this interview I think we have one of our most informative and inspirational interviews in relation to the teachings of Franz Bardon. I would like to express our thanks to Editions Moryason and of course to Alexandre Moryason for sharing with us and for giving such clear, direct advice to practitioners. In case you are not aware Alexandre Moryason is the translator for the French editions of Franz Bardon’s Initiation into Hermetics, the Practice of Magical Evocation and the Key to the True Quabbalah. He added many footnotes to these translations which make this French language set of Franz Bardon’s teachings even more precious as the hand of a practitioner has ensured the true meaning is retained.

Be sure to visit Editions Moryason website to see the titles they have available. As you can see from this interview anything that is there, you know is because it is truly useful for practitioners.

On Apparent Contradictions in the KTQ

PAA: One of the first things readers of KTQ notice is initial confusion in relation to letters and body regions—for instance, with the letter B. In step I-I of KTQ, Bardon gives exercises with letters assigned to one body region, but in step IV, they are assigned to other regions for practice. You are probably the only editor and publisher to provide a further explanation on this topic. To quote from the French edition of KTQ:

“It should be made clear at this point that various contradictions might be noticed by the
reader as to the information given by the Author on the Elements acting in each Letter.
This contradiction is only apparent. Despite the clear exposition given, this subject is
very complex. In fact, it must be kept in mind that Electricity and Magnetism are
produced from one another and that this game of alternating manifestation takes place
on all planes of existence. Each Element therefore contains the other Three in a
particular form of expression and in the following proportions: an atom of Ether is made
up of 1/2 Ether and 1/8 of each of the other Elements; an atom of Fire is made up of 1/2
Fire, 1/8 Ether and 1/8 of each of the other three Elements (Air Water-Earth). These
proportions are found in an atom of Air, Water and Earth. The Kabbalistic Tree will be a
valuable support for meditation regarding the Circulation of the Elements and the
reflection of a Sphere or Sephira- linked to a dominant Element- in another located on
    the same Pillar.”

Could you elaborate on how these apparent contradictions reflect deeper truths about the
interdependence of the elements, so the readers could gain a wider picture of the complexity
and dynamics of each letter’s ability to be expressed in multiple spheres of our micro and macro cosmos?

Editions Moryason: This work has to be done by the student as he/she practices Bardon’s steps. Franz Bardon stresses many times that one has to meditate on these subjects and deepen one’s understanding of the concepts. The logic to follow is to avoid focusing too much on the lower mind who is an obstacle to the manifestation of higher intuition (this higher intuition descends from the Buddhi-manas plane of our structure). This also implies the need to purify one’s Elements (our subtle structure) in order to allow the understanding of this Knowledge (i.e. the KTQ). More concretely, (a key, in a way): the organs of the body and their subtle double are interconnected, as you know, which in fact reveals the electromagnetic aspect of these exchanges. There are therefore no contradictions in these two attributions made by FB. Consequently: practice, practice, practice and you will see, even feel, this interconnection.

    Elemental Interdependence

PAA: Each element contains the other three in varying proportions. How does this interconnectedness influence a Kabbalist’s approach to balancing energies in their practices?

Editions Moryason: Interdependence is the root of Magic: it’s not only about Elements, but spiritual planes, organs, … all is interconnected and this should be considered when acting on a Magical level. An Element is composed of —on a basis of 4— :

    • 1/2 of itself,
    • the second half dividing into 3 parts, each linked respectively to the other 3 Elements.
    • Akasha is found in what subtly surrounds the Element, like a circle divided into two equal halves.
    • This distribution (1/2 and 3 equal parts forming the other half surrounded by Akasha) is that of a balanced Element.

In the average human, this distribution reveals inequalities, constituting what is called “the internal imbalance of an Element.” The more this internal balance occurs, the more it interacts with the balance of the other Elements, thus gradually bringing about the overall balance of the elements among themselves.
This work simultaneously generates a change in the vibrational frequency of each Element, a change in its structure: it involves raising this frequency, which is, in the average human, quite low (3rd dimension).

This work of total purification of the Elements manifests itself through a change in consciousness (the essential goal of all spiritual practice). The practitioner thus reaches the 4th and 5th dimensions; opening the Path to Adepthood.

As human structure is naturally unbalanced and vibrates at low frequencies, as we have just specified, the risk of an unbalanced practice is very high and one has to go through a period of Purification of his/her structure to be able to move forward with success.
The book “The Light Over The Kingdom” teaches different balanced techniques (including “Purification teachings”) that you can practice right away, without risk, and that gives tangible results. Once a decent level of purification is reached, the elemental proportion/distribution is always the same: see IIH’s footnotes.

On the Kabbalistic Tree and Circulation

PAA: The Kabbalistic Tree is suggested as a tool for meditating on the “circulation of the elements” and their reflections in different spheres or Sephirot. How does one approach this type of meditation practically, and what insights might it reveal?

Editions Moryason: Before starting to work on this Tree, one must consider the absolute necessity of the Purification of our Elements. Let us note that the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, not having insisted enough on this, has had to deal with many setbacks (dangers, imbalances) of many of its members etc… The Masters of Wisdom asked Mathers at the beginning of the 20th century to close this Order; he obeyed. However, individual practices have not ceased and, worse, a recent so-called reactivation of this Order was made, producing the same negative consequences.

The Kabbalistic Tree is the symbol of the ideal circulation of energies in the human structure. As we said earlier, human nature is naturally unbalanced1, so practically one should :

(…) submit individual electromagnetism to the action of Universal Electromagnetism in order to untangle the neurotic intertwining of energies structuring the psyche and the intellect and thus allow the emergence of a Divine State in man. (The Light Over The Kingdom p.20 )

So the main approach here is Purification. Without this step, no further progress can be made because of the unbalanced nature of mankind. Purification progressively allows the emergence of a Divine state in ourselves. The practical teachings can be found in the book “The Light Over The Kingdom”. The insights are quite similar to what is found in occult literature: the Emergence of a Divine state in a person allows the consciousness of that person to grow to a level not understandable by a uninitiated person, it also allows the emergence of “siddhis”, the occult powers, that are well documented in Bardon’s books, so no further explanation is needed. For the average person, the benefits are an expansion of consciousness, a better karma and some beginning of Hermetic faculties that may start to manifest harmoniously, depending on the gifts, the karma, and the elemental structure of the person.

    Cosmic Breath and Elements

PAA: The description of the “Divine Breath” in relation to the circulation of elements suggests a perpetual flow of creation and dissolution. How does this concept align with the Hermetic axiom “As above, so below,” and how can it be practically applied in meditative work?

Editions Moryason: “Divine Breath” is an aspect of the Unique, what Bardon calls “Akasha”. This substance is Life and therefore is Light and Movement. There are different spiritual Worlds and Realms ( each one of those Realms having it’s own light color and Number, its evocation mandala-form ) all are influenced/created/maintained by Akasha as Bardon explains. So the practical applications of that concept are almost endless. This was masterfully described by Franz Bardon in his three books. However, one must be careful with the various spiritual schools that promote methods of “breathing” because the action of the Breath is essential in the energetic structure of every living being and without a sure transmission (ie: transmission by a qualified Positive Instructor), one can be exposed to several dangers.

    Balancing Secrecy and Knowledge Sharing

PAA: How should a practitioner discern when it is appropriate to share esoteric knowledge with others versus maintaining secrecy to align with karmic timing?

Editions Moryason: Franz Bardon stresses that the best help is done anonymously. We do not want to become a “guru”, that may slow down our spiritual progress, and is not beneficial to third parties. So most of the time, it’s better to let people evolve naturally, without meddling in their spiritual development. Of course, if one sees a grave danger or a similar situation where help has to be given, then one has to help. The best is to do it anonymously, or in a way so humble that the recipient of the help will not notice us or will forget our very existence. Advanced Hermetic practitioners can look in the Akasha how several scenarios may play out, and choose the one that suits the more the interest of the person he/she wants to help.

Theurgy as Co-Creation with the Divine

PAA: Theurgy is described as working alongside Divine Providence in the Great Work. How does this concept reconcile individual free will with the overarching will of Divine Providence, especially when engaging in transformative magical acts? Can failures in this realm have far-reaching karmic repercussions?

Editions Moryason: The following example will give a clear picture of our answer. The example of the way Adepts work is enlightening: Adepts give the “blueprint” (What has to be done from the perspective of Divine Laws) to their disciples, giving them free will in the way they manifest the blueprint. So, there is not just “one perfect action”, there may be different ways to achieve the correct goal, the correct way, and that’s how we reconcile free will and following Divine Providence’s plan.

Failures always have repercussions: but as Franz Bardon says, as long as we learn from our mistakes and we do not do it again, it’s ok, it’s part of the process of self-growth.

PAA: Connection to Other Traditions: The text mentions parallels between Kabbalah and other Traditions, such as Kundalini Yoga. What are the key similarities and differences between these systems in their approach to elemental energies?

Editions Moryason: What you call “Kundalini Yoga” is not a Tradition but a practice included in the Eastern Traditions (Hinduism and Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism). This practice is part of those that enable developing occult faculties inherent of the human structure. Like everything that is involved in this development, the danger is present. Also, all these practices (including Kundalini Yoga) are transmitted by an initiation that cannot be found in the works that supposedly disclose them; this has been common in the West since the last decades of the last century. It must also be considered that many black magicians, disguised as “kind gurus”, “transmit” initiations that are “inverted”; when people follow and practice these harmful instructions, they unknowingly provide vital energy to the black magician, “guru”. This vampirism tends to excessively devitalize the practitioner-victim and in the long run sometimes they lead to illnesses and death. But the worst is that, through these inverted practices, the person soils, lowers his/her Elements which transforms him into an increasingly negative being with the karmic consequences that follow. Even if this victim will benefit from “mitigating circumstances”, the Universal Laws governing the substance of our bodies will trigger the need to purify this substance (and then negative karmic situations have to manifest to purify the substance and balance karma) …

Franz Bardon system has strong similarities with Tibetan teachings as books like “Tibetan Yoga and Secret Doctrines2” clearly demonstrate. Those who had the chance to visit Franz Bardon’s family know that he made no mystery of the links he had with Tibet.

Franz Bardon’s teachings are way more precise, down to earth, almost scientific and accessible to everybody. Tibetan teachings, on the other hand, clearly require someone to already have some connection to the occult, so to the westerners the approach is too harsh.

As a consequence, elemental energies will be well better described by Bardon, as will all the others concepts and exercises. Regarding the link with Kabbalah and Bardon, this time, the nations are both westerners so the thought process and mental structure is similar. The difference between those two teachings is just that because of the “fall of the generations3” , many knowledge has been lost , hidden, or sometimes corrupted by the “brothers of the shadow”. So Franz Bardon came and re-founded the teachings, left us with books we can trust and a system that has been validated by a true positive Adept. One can list the similarities (like the “Berakhot” and Bardon’s “Conscious reception of food”) but suffice it to say that Bardon’s work is more precise, practical, up to date and Divinely oriented. We have all encountered old Kabbalistic texts where some Divine Names are written, but how to be sure it’s not the name of a demon? Texts have been rewritten many times! Franz Bardon’s work is a guarantee that we are in contact with positive energies and that we do not become the toy of the “brothers of the shadow”.

That being said, Franz Bardon has disclosed the general rules of Hermeticism, but has not disclosed the “Master-to-Disciple” one to one Transmission: this is due to the very fact that his writings are intended for all audiences.

    The Alchemy of Divine Names

PAA: The texts discuss the power of Divine Names in invoking energies or qualities. How can practitioners ensure their understanding of these Names transcends rote repetition, allowing them to tap into the transformative essence behind the Name?

Editions Moryason: To tap into the transformative essence behind the Divine Name, one has to take into account the structure of the practitioner. The westerner usually only focus on the technique, and forgets about the state of his/her spiritual (etheric, astral, mental “subtile”) structure. But the results of Theurgy (the use of Divine Names), highly depends of the purification of the structure of the practitioner. For example, in the “Letters of the Mahatmas”, the Master Koot Hoomi clearly explains that the Magic performed by Jesus was achieved more by his state of purity4, than by the use of complicated or secret techniques and teachings. Even in traditional Orthodox Judaism and Kabbalah, it is common knowledge that magic results are obtained trough purification or a state of purity, the “Tzaddikim5” are well known to maintain that state of purification, and not by the use of hidden and forbidden secrets of “Kabbalah Ma’asit6”. Old Kabbalistic literature explains the importance of purification with some “tests” to validate, and if the purification test is not ok, one has to cancel the ritual and give up with the scheduled utterance of the Divine Name(s).

Yet, despite all these examples and Traditions, it is our experience that most westerners do not take into account their structure and the importance of purification: this means that they rely on their concrete lower mind, in all their investigations in the field of Occultism; now, this precise mind (called in Tibetan “sem”) is, in this language, almost synonymous with “enemy”… They may experience side effects and/or disappointments. In the book “The Light Over The Kingdom”, this problem is addressed and safe purification rituals and techniques are given.

    “The Light over the Kingdom”

PAA: You are the author of several books, including The Light over the Kingdom, which is perhaps the most accessible to an international audience outside France. Could you give us a short introduction to this work, what inspired you to write it, and how it can assist a practitioner interested in Franz Bardon’s curriculum of magic?

Editions Moryason: “The Light over the Kingdom” is intended for the general public. There are also other publications intended for those who practice “The Light over the Kingdom”… like “Créator (Khâ-Hérou-Hathor)”, “The Pentacle of the Kingdom”, however those are not books so to speak, but rather magical methods. “The Pentacle of the Kingdom” is a sacred consecrated object, accompanied by a booklet, is requested, once again, by those who practice “The Light over the Kingdom”. So this book (“The Light over the Kingdom”) is the only one truly intended for the general public.

Franz Bardon has mentioned the existence of “Ankhur Magic”, but has not given one to his/her students, leaving them with the freedom to choose the one of their culture or liking. Franz Bardon’s system is known to be hard to practice, so it became clear people would benefit from the practice of an Ankhur. Alexandre Moryason’s book “The Light over the Kingdom” is designed to be practiced with Bardon’s books and to be an “Ankhur Magic”, aimed at helping the practitioner of Franz Bardon’s teachings to make progress.

Our approach and experience of four decades demonstrates that the main problems of the western student are :

    1) the lack of purification of his/her structure and;

    2) the almost exclusive use of one’s concrete lower mind, which hinders the spontaneous expression of Love.

This book addresses that problem and is an unique opportunity to “touch something from the world of the Spirit”, (whose ultimate true nature is Compassion/Love). The book covers many subjects ranging from Egyptian Magic, Ankhur, Karmic purification, Kabbalah to Fire Rituals.

    Esoteric Knowledge in France

PAA: France has a long history of Initiatic Orders, Lodges, and magical groups. What is the current scene like compared to its complex past?

Editions Moryason: French occultists tend to be secretive compared to Anglo-Saxons. They do not discuss those subjects.

    Esoteric Community

PAA: How has your interaction with the Esoteric Community shaped your views, and what feedback do you find most valuable?

Editions Moryason: Four decades of interaction with the Esoteric Community proves, beyond doubt, that the westerner structure needs to be purified to start to get results with Franz Bardon’s teachings. We also came to the conclusion that many hardships faced by the practitioners of Magic have a Karmic root. The most valuable and rewarding feedback comes from those who seriously follow our spiritual roadmap and teachings, and overcome the karmic problems they face as good students of Occultism. Our satisfaction is in the countless testimonies, over these many years, from practitioners who have experienced spectacular changes in their lives, both on a concrete level (material desires) and in terms of the evolution of consciousness toward the Divine.

It should also be noted that this purification does not, of course, concern only Westerners but all human beings.

    Advice to New Students

PAA: What advice would you give to someone interested in stepping into the world of esotericism, either as a practitioner or researcher?

Editions Moryason: To practice alone, read and practice Franz Bardon’s books. Do not underestimate the importance of purification as it is needed for the westerner’s spiritual structure. As Franz Bardon’s teachings are difficult, you might consider the use of an “Ankhur Magic” to help, and speed up the process. We offer this type of Ankhur Magic in our book, “The Light Over The Kingdom”. A researcher should be aware that strong forces opposing Light exist: if a researcher wants to publish the result of his/her work, it is advisable to take that into account and to have a clear picture of the possible very difficult consequences.

    Franz Bardon Tradition

PAA: What do you believe makes Bardon’s teachings stand out compared to other esoteric traditions?

Editions Moryason: They are unique, clear, recent and the content is for everybody to see. You do not need to loose your liberty by joining a group or a Positive Brotherhood to get the content of the “last levels”. You can work alone, make progress, and while you may think you are alone, you can be sure Franz Bardon will keep an eye on you. All serious practitioners of Franz Bardon know what we mean by that.

We put a stress on practicing, alone, away from the crowd, anonymously.

    Integrity in Publishing

PAA: How do you ensure that the essence and integrity of Bardon’s teachings are preserved in your publications?

Editions Moryason : We avoid the ego-life of the mundane. We do not speak publicly, do not have a YouTube channel, no social networks, we do not attend meetings, no “Instagram lifestyle”. Our Translations obviously do not change so the integrity you’re talking about is preserved by the above mentioned behavior: staying away from all medias. We put a stress on practicing, alone, away from the crowd, anonymously.

    Misconceptions

PAA: What do you think are the common misconceptions about Franz Bardon and his teachings?

Editions Moryason: Four decades of contact with the western public proves that the biggest misconception is to believe you can go forward with Franz Bardon’s teachings without serious work on the Elemental balance and its subsequent purification. Let’s face it with blatant honesty: we westerners tend to think: “we are “already clean”, there is no urge to change our elemental balance.”

So this is the first and biggest misconception: we need to go through a serious process of purification, to get rid of our dark side, our imbalance. When we reach a better elemental balance, then some Bardon steps will be easier to practice, or we may even fully master an exercise after taming an important defect of our psychological nature. The second important misconception or mistake about Franz Bardon’s teachings is not to make the difference between Quality and Quantity. (see “Arion” & The Key to the True Kabbalah) Many practitioners make that mistake and underestimate the need for Quantity to materialize their wish. So either the action does not work, and they are sad, or – what is worse – the wish will be granted but nature will have to reimburse herself taking directly the missing Quantity from the structure of the practitioner. The person can then suffer a karmic problem, get ill, or even if some extreme cases, have his life span shortened. This, of course, also applies to cases where people ask Spirits with things that use an extreme amount of Quantity, without thinking if their own structure can cope with the amount required in the first place. A smart student of Occultism will instantly guess that such an unbalanced approach may lead to pacts or similar calamities. Obviously, such an error denotes an elemental imbalance, the presence of an impurity in the structure, and the subsequent need for purification to finally be successful with the practice of Franz Bardon.

Advice for Studying the Franz Bardon Books

PAA: What advice would you give to someone just beginning their journey with Bardon’s books?

Editions Moryason: To practice alone, read and practice Franz Bardon’s books. Do not underestimate the importance of purification as it is needed for the westerner’s spiritual structure. As Franz Bardon’s teachings are difficult, you might consider the use of an “Ankhur Magic” to help, and speed up the process. We offer this type of Ankhur Magic in our book, The Light Over The Kingdom. Be sure that Franz Bardon follows your progress, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT AWARE OF IT: the Light Brotherhood is real, and a sincere student will soon or later receive some “signs” in his/her Path.

PAA: How has technology influenced the dissemination of Bardon’s teachings in recent years?

Editions Moryason: Before internet, followers of Bardon Teachings had to physically meet: usually in a bookshop or a similar place. Technology removed that requirement and all Bardon followers all over the world started to be able to communicate and share their journey on the Internet. So for people living in big cities, the change is not that noticeable, it’s really a game changer for the more distant and poorer communities in the country or abroad.

All you need is a cellphone, and you can talk to a serious practitioner living the other side of the world at no cost, even if you live in the most remote, poor and wild area of the world.

This is the material reality: human contact is facilitated. However, this kind of exchange harbors some harm: we exchange our experiences—which are purely individual because they depend on our own elemental and karmic structure—with another person whose experiences come from their own elemental and karmic structure. The result creates real delays because one tends to adopt the advice of another… (ie: another insufficiently experienced student

This explains why F. Bardon never ceases to insist on solitary and discreet work.

    Future Titles from Editions Moryason

PAA: How do you see the future of your shop and publishing efforts in France? Are there any upcoming projects or initiatives you’re excited about?

Editions Moryason: We are in the process of publishing:

    • Alexandre Moryason’s last translation: Zanoni, Maître Rose+Croix, written by Edward Bulwer-Lytton. This faithful translation is based on the initial manuscript of 1845. Alexandre Moryason wrote a Preface which explains what the true Order of the Rose+Croix is, so mysterious, and a subject that has caused rivers of ink to flow. He also reveals a manuscript bearing the signature of F. Bardon, who signs as a Rosicrucian Initiator-Master. This new translation has the merit of providing an adjacent esoteric teaching in 276 footnotes, including historical knowledge and various mythologies.

    • The translation by Noël Richard-Nafarre (author of the excellent biography of «Helena Petrovna Blavatsky ou la réponse du Sphynx “) of two works by the great Tibetologist David Reagle:

The Book of Dzyan or The Sources of “The Secret Doctrine”

The Books of Kiu-te or the Tibetan Buddhist Tantras

These two works constitute a real revelation of the authenticity of the Sources of the Teachings received by H.P. Blavatsky, delivered by the Masters of Wisdom, Morya and Koot Hoomi. Indeed, since no one had access to the archives of the Planetary Annals written in the Senzar language and kept in Tibet by the Adepts of the Great White Lodge, doubt was allowed about the integrity of H.P. Blavatsky, so unjustly slandered. However, due to the Chinese invasion of Tibet in October 1950, most of the precious manuscripts were saved and taken abroad, including the famous book of “Kiu-te”, which H.P. Blavatsky constantly refers to in the writing of “The Secret Doctrine”. David Reagle, as a Tibetologist, had access to these documents, including the “Kiu-te”. It is this clear translation, with the approval of our Tibetologist, that we also offer to our readers. We see 2025 as the opening of a new positive spiritual cycle.

Martial Arts, Energy Work & Practical Alchemy: An Interview with Marissa Newell

    Introduction

In this interview, we get to learn from a seasoned practitioner, Marisa Newell who’s been on a long, hands-on journey through martial arts, energy work, and practical magic. We cover various disciplines—from the early days of learning Tai Chi in Thailand and working with teachers like Sifu Rod Savvides, to deep dives into inner alchemy and evocation with Sifu Mark Rasmus, Sifu Ludovic Pernot, and Sifu Michael Lamb. I hope you enjoy.

If you would like to learn more about Marisa’s work please visit her website here.

    Background

    ● Please tell us about your background and how you came to be on the path

    ● Can you discuss any teachers or guides who helped you on the path and what they shared with you? From your website it looks like you have a great deal of experience with many varied teachers.

    Kung Fu

    ● Could you share a little about your martial training? The different teachers and systems?

    ● Sifu Rod Savvides

Thanks for this opportunity, James – I appreciate the work you’re doing and the support for practitioners.

The start of my journey began by relocating from Australia to Thailand in 2004, and subsequently meeting the Russian psychic Diana Manilova in Chiang Mai. Diana suggested that I learn tai chi – which I knew nothing about at the time (2007) – and also astrology and crystal singing bowls. The following week I saw a flyer at a local cafe for tai chi chuan training with Sifu Rod Savvides at his Body and Mind Healing school … and that’s how I came to be on this path. The astrology and crystal singing bowls never eventuated.

Under Sifu Rod, I trained Wudang Practical Tai Chi Chuan of Sifu Dan Docherty lineage which involved hand and weapons forms and applications, pushing hands, Baduanjin chi kung, zhan zhuang, and nei gong over the span of nine years.

The majority of the training was purely physical with a focus on learning forms and how the forms are used in self-defence applications, along with some listening and sensitivity exercises like reeling silk. The Wudang Practical Tai Chi Chuan short and long hand forms are initially taught in a ‘square’ style – with each physical posture and movement separate from the other – before being taught ‘round’ with the postures flowing into each other in movement. It was a long learning process and certainly taught me about discipline and patience.

While I enjoyed the training, over time I felt a huge lack of internal energy understanding and that the system was missing aspects to support inner development. So, seeking a practice beyond physical movement naturally led me to new teachers.

Having had the opportunity to train with some great teachers and get a taste for different systems, I can attest that the teachers who have had the most impact upon my studies and path, and where I find the most resonance, are Sifu Mark Rasmus and Sifu Ludovic Pernod.

    Sifu Mark Rasmus

    ● Can you share about your first experience with Sifu Mark?

    ● What made you decide to pursue in depth study with Sifu Mark

My first day of training with Sifu Mark Rasmus was exciting, intimidating and humbling. When I walked through the door he said, “I know you – you’re that warrior woman. You’re scary, throwing your spear around in the park.” He also likened me to Fudo Myoo, which I wasn’t sure how to take at the time.

I honestly didn’t feel much or understand a lot of Sifu Mark’s teachings in the beginning because I was so closed, despite being a sensitive type of person. The energy inside the training hall and the exercises – just at a vital level – touched a lot of my resistances, so my initial experience was quite difficult and chaotic. I knew how to show up and train regardless, so that’s what I did until I finally got things. It was a slow process for me and, thankfully, Sifu Mark was very welcoming and kind. This initial training period primarily revolved around building vital energy and training my physical body through building the ball, power stretches, eight powers, throwing exercises, and tree qigong. Another important area of focus was getting my astral body in equanimity. I would practice at Wat Umong temple every day and build the four elements into my astral body, and strengthen my connection to Akasha and Non-Dual White Light for self-healing. After about a month of this – just this practice alone – there were noticeable energy shifts or changes and this was massively encouraging and empowering. I had never worked with energy previously in such a way to affect real change as I did with Sifu Mark’s teachings.

I took, and still do take, a very practical approach with my own training because I learn best through doing. I’m firmly convinced that we can only affect change through action. Understanding how energy works comes through experiencing it ourselves. A teacher can provide the theory and energy transmission, but you’ve got to be able to feel and reproduce the energy on your own with your own effort in order to take ownership of the teachings and transmissions.

Over the years of training with Sifu Mark my interest in tai chi chuan and martial aspects in general gradually faded (although I still enjoy the rebounding force component of Sifu Mark’s system) and my focus shifted towards spiritual, ascension aspects of qigong and Hermetics.

I’m extremely grateful to Sifu Mark for sharing his knowledge so openly – it’s like standing on the shoulders of a giant – and I aim to live up to his ability, kindness and generosity as a teacher.

    Sifu Ludovic

I can’t write about Sifu Mark Rasmus without mentioning one of his senior students, Sifu Ludovic Pernot. Sifu Ludovic is a powerhouse healer and teacher. With a military and martial arts background, he emphasises training the quantitative aspects of power and willpower through building proper vital energy foundations, and this is demonstrated by his powerful ability to bring energy into form.

In 1995, at the age of 25, Sifu Ludovic met Taoist healer Sifu Liu in France and followed him to China in order to study with him until 2017. The lineage of Sifu Liu translates as ‘the people from Penguin Mountain’. Sifu Liu is not a master you’ll find on YouTube, but from the footage shared with me of his Taoist singing/chanting, tai chi / qigong forms and administering energy healing he was certainly special and you can sense that influence of energy in Sifu Ludovic’s field. Sifu Liu passed away on 23rd February 2025.

On my first day of training with Sifu Mark, I met Sifu Ludovic and we subsequently trained together in the mornings before class. In classic military style I was expected to be at the park for training exactly on time – no excuses – and I thrived inside of that discipline which fueled my willpower to practice. I remember getting up early, riding on my bicycle in the dark to the park or the temple, very little talking and a lot of quality practice – standing and also seated meditation on uncomfortable benches while being swarmed by mosquitoes, bugs and insects, but with my spirit feeling completely invigorated.

Sifu Ludovic is one of the hardest teachers I’ve ever had, but I’ve also had some of the best experiences and breakthroughs training with him. The countless hours of training together and friendship on the path has had a huge impact on my development and I’m fortunate to have Sifu Ludovic as a teacher.

Hermetics and Kabbalah with Sifu Michael Lamb

Michael is a wonderful character, can you share what it was like working with him? Despite him and Sifu Mark sharing the same teacher in William Cook I imagine both have their own expression.

Sifu Michael Lamb is certainly quite the character! And yes, he and Sifu Mark have their own individual approach, personality and expression of the Hermetic teachings from their teacher, William Cook Edwards.

I met Sifu Michael in 2023 during the lead-up to Sifu Mark’s annual trainings in Chiang Mai. Sifu Michael had scheduled his Kabbalah and the Tree of Life workshop to follow soon afterwards.

Senior students were generously given the opportunity to practice and learn energy meditations with Sifu Micheal in the evenings and that was a lot of fun. One evening Sifu Michael took us on a mental wandering exercise up Doi Suthep mountain (which backs on to the training hall), mentally moving from the training room, up the mountain, feeling the vegetation and coolness, and then slowly settling on the top of the mountain. As we settled there and became one with the mountain, I felt the entire mountain move – serpent and circular-like – and all of a sudden, I felt a power rising up and the head of a giant naga (Asian serpentine dragon) appeared in front of me – blazing and golden – and I was face-to-face with it for some minutes. It was an incredible and unforgettable experience and I see that mountain with different eyes now.

Sifu Michael is a wealth of knowledge and he led us through wonderful meditations with our chakras, the elements and the Kabbalah letters during his workshop. We also worked with constellations, which was new for me, and I had some very memorable and interesting experiences, particularly with the stars Arcturus and Sirius. The training is excellent for developing psychic senses and he runs this course online with his partner, Manuela Elphame, through their M&M Hermetic Mastery programs.

    ● How do you apply the teachings you received to your own programs? Internal Alchemy & Qigong Level 1

    ● Please tell us about this program, would this be something similar to the work of Franz Bardons first book?

My training programs are based upon the teachings of Sifu Mark and Sifu Ludovic, with Franz Bardon having obviously influenced their teachings. Training is centered around developing the feeling sense perception of energy – clairsentience – and, through that, students are better able to navigate and understand energy and states of consciousness.

I tend to attract people who are seeking healing and spirituality. My students are a mix of beginners wanting to heal and find more meaning in life and established healers, therapists and teachers who have been practicing in their fields for a long time but feel they’re missing the energetic aspects.

My Inner Temple program is inspired by evocation work with four elemental beings Pyrhum, Parahim, Amasol, and Mentiful, and the Earth sphere being Aschmunadai.

In Foundations of the Inner Temple: Internal Alchemy & Qigong Intensive (Level 1) we focus on the vital, astral and mental energy layers with an emphasis on the four elements to build a framework primarily for inner work, self-healing and raising our consciousness. We incorporate basic mental training to develop the observer mind; astral training to investigate our astral personality and how the elements express in our black and white mirror, and how to alchemise our emotions; and vital training with the use of a chi brush and vital breathing each day to build energy for energy transformation work.

My approach is extremely practical. The majority of the internal alchemy and qigong exercises are done in seated meditation, with corresponding partner work to increase awareness of how energy affects not only themselves but other people. I find that people learn and understand much more through partner work. The basic starting point for partner work is learning how to feel our training partner’s feet through the tension line of their body and to open and float them with vital energy and, from that, increasing the complexity of partner exercises primarily for healing.

    ● How long does it usually take for students to get accustomed to the elements and develop their clairsentience?

By the end of Level 1 – 40 hours over ten days of training – students will have developed clairsentience with the ability to feel the vibrational scale of energy and feel stronger with the harmony of the four elements in their vital, astral and mental bodies.

Occasionally some students find it difficult to feel energy, but because the training resonates with them and they see other students having experiences they continue training – often working harder than the students who are more sensitive and intuitive.

Towards the end of the Level 1 training I introduce Akasha and Non-Dual White Light. I find that this transmission connects people to a higher state that they haven’t touched before, or may have touched before but haven’t had the mechanism or way to get back to that experience, and it can be a profound experience that inspires them on their path.

By the end of this training students have a lot of information, practices and a clear framework to take home and support their inner work, healing and growth. I also have an online Telegram group to support the students and so that everyone can stay connected.

    ● Leading on from the elements, what needs to occur for students to move onto the akasha and non dual light?

I simply offer Akasha and Non-Dual White Light teachings for those who want to learn after completing Level 1. Some do and others don’t. By the end of Level 1 students know if they are ready to do that work or need time to integrate what they have already learned before continuing further study.

In Building the Inner Temple: Internal Alchemy & Qigong Intensive (Level 2) – also 40 hours over ten days – the program focuses on Akasha and Non-Dual White Light exercises. We continue to build vital energy each day and also the elements in the three bodies, and learn how to invoke the elements from Akasha.

We go into deeper aspects of self-healing and also healing techniques with our training partners using the elements, Akasha and Non-Dual White Light. We connect to our spiritual guides and I introduce the Buddhist deity Akashagarbha and we learn how to work with Akasagarbha and our spiritual guides inside of our healing work, and on a path of service. Students usually have memorable peak experiences inside of Akasha and Non-Dual White Light, and for long-time practitioners a lot of what that they have previously learned and experienced makes greater sense inside of those frequencies.

In meditation we have our own interaction with the spirit/deity/intelligence and afterwards journal and share our experiences within the group.

    Marissa Newell

    ● How long would students need to work with this material before looking towards Evocation?

For students who have completed Levels 1 and 2, I offer guidance in evocation. Again, students usually know whether they’re ready for learning these techniques or instead need more time to integrate what they’ve learned in the first two levels. My evocation groups tend to be smaller, more intimate.

Expanding the Inner Temple: Practical Magical Evocation Workshop (Level 3) consists of three hours per day of meditation with different spirits/deities/intelligences over nine days. We refine the mechanics of transforming energy, releasing our bodies, raising up into Light, opening a circle, and with invocation each day.

Approaching this work on a path of service, evolution and ascension, we start with invocation of the elemental spirits and Aschmunadai to build a stable and quiet Inner Temple space for practice, and then progressively work with intelligences from the Earth, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Sun planetary spheres.

In meditation we have our own interaction with the spirit/deity/intelligence and afterwards journal and share our experiences within the group. Student experiences will range from deep healing to profound insights, information to evolve their current life interests, and clair-senses awakening and developing. It’s a lot of fun.

This workshop provides a simple and powerful way to connect and work with spirits/deities/intelligences utlising the framework learned from Levels 1 and 2, with a practical energy and feeling perception-based approach.

I’ve evolved the trainings over time, drawing upon feedback from students, trying to better understand what people seek in trainings, and taking into consideration potential availability and the realistic time commitments that students face. I’m sure that what I offer and my development as a teacher will continue to evolve into the future.

    Evocation

    ● This is very personal experience but if you are able can you share about any notable experiences? Whether that be due to the entity in question or as a result of the practice.

    ● What can you tell us about your work with Evocation? Does it strictly follow the course that Bardon lays out?

    ● I notice you work with Buddhist and Taoist deities, how did you go about contact these initially? Via Mental Wandering?

Evocation is what I enjoy the most and I follow the method as taught by Sifu Mark Rasmus which utilises Franz Bardon’s The Practice of Magical Evocation as a guide to the intelligences. I use the same method for working with Buddhist and Taoist deities too.

The platform for connecting to spirits/deities/intelligences is through Akasha and Non-Dual White Light. The deity is invoked through the crown and into the mental body, working with our feeling sense gate. We feel the deity enter the mental body and then there is a process of releasing the mind, sense of self, mental body and facial muscles to come into resonance with the deity. Feeling the energetic signature of the deity over your face provides a marker for staying connected or in contact with the deity.

Interacting with the deity inside of Light and our mental body, the energy translates into information and insight on our path. Healing can also take place as Light filters down into our astral and physical bodies. I’ve had a lot of profound experiences in evocation.

My entry point was practicing deity yoga with Buddhist deity Fudo Myoo, breathing to and from a printed image of Fudo Myoo and connecting with it energetically – vital, astral, mental, Akasha, and Non-Dual White Light – sensing the effects upon the three bodies. In vital one immediately feels the power of the vital energy from Fudo Myoo. Moving into the astral one gets a sense for how the heart centre opens through his love and compassion for all beings. In the mental body an understanding of the immovable nature of his mind – to be concentrated and still. After establishing a connection to Fudo Myoo in this way for some time, I then practiced evocation and the energy and experiences began to amplify. Most notably when I first experienced fire rising from the ground into the space/room and through the three bodies as a type of purification and how Fudo Myoo regulates energy for healing.

Sifu Ludovic introduced me to the Taoist deity, Ancestor Pengzu, from his time with Sifu Liu in China. Ancestor Pengzu is the father of qigong who emits a light of longevity, and there is a specific five organs practice (Yang Sheng) which has an incredible effect on the physical body – particularly, for women, regulating the menstrual cycle. Over one particular period of time, I was working with Ancestor Pengzu each day, inviting the deity into the space and doing the five organs practice. Amidst different energy experiences, I began having clairvoyant experiences. Ancestor Pengzu appeared along with other Taoist deities, most notably a female deity named Xi Wang Mu, also known as the Queen Mother of the West. Over that month I was given information on different herbs to eat and drink that were all associated with longevity and health. I experienced past lives as a Taoist monk, was shown specific qigong forms for longevity, and also encountered dragons. I always feel very good when I work with the energy of Ancestor Pengzu, particularly at a vital-physical level and I return to the five organs practice time and time again.

Working from Franz Bardon’s book, the Sun sphere intelligences have had the greatest impact upon me and I would say that most students who train with Sifu Mark sense the connection and alignment to the Sun sphere through his teachings. I feel that the personal and spiritual evolution inside of my own practice and development as a teacher is supported by the beings of Sun.

  • Fajin and Hermetic Practice

    Fajin and Hermetic Practice

    Introduction

Today we will discuss rebounding fajin and empty force.

Classically speaking, these techniques were used to throw an opponent across the room. While this is a very flashy display of internal power, it masks the more important reasons why a practitioner would want to engage in this. Primarily, the practice of these techniques greatly enhances the throughput of subtle energy through the body of a practitioner and is one of the most effective ways to make a practitioner’s ability to work with energy extremely strong.

Additionally, at the empty force level, these techniques teach a practitioner how to engage their mental body with the mental body of another person. This is valuable for any number of reasons involving meditation and esoteric practice. However, it is not terribly useful for martial arts purposes.

The simple fact of the matter is that when you see empty force demonstrations on television where people go flying from across the street without anybody touching one another, it is, for the most part, a conditioned reflex and has no real application in martial arts.

    Requirements

The requirements for practicing rebounding fajin and empty force at a basic level include partners. At a minimum, you’ll require one additional person to practice with, and this exercise works best if you have multiple people to practice with.

Additionally, if you want to practice these exercises at the level of the vital, you will need to be able to pore breathe vital energy. If you wish to practice it at the astral or empty force level, you will additionally need to be able to perform astral breathing and the generation of mental energy.

    What is Rebounding?

What is rebounding fajin and empty force? Quite simply put, these are applications of subtle energy going from most gross to most subtle that are frequently used to move an opponent. However, this is really a misnomer.

The simple fact of the matter is this technology is not terribly useful in a martial arts context, and there are a variety of reasons for this. Not the least of which is that when someone is actively fighting with another opponent, their subtle bodies tend to lock together very tightly. The result is that using esoteric energy to move them around is not terribly efficient.

That said, the use of these techniques is very efficient at strengthening the fascia, ligaments, and tendons in the body, enhancing the movement of subtle energy through the body, and strengthening your ability to work with the mental field of another person. All of these things are extremely valuable for any number of activities involving meditation, yoga, and the subtle arts.

As a practical matter, this technique is one that all of the strongest practitioners I have personally known included in their repertoire. One of my teachers also says that this is the fastest way to develop subtle energy in the body. We will be addressing the use of vital, astral, and mental energy in the context of training this exercise.

However, as is usually the case within 60 Skills, what we are really demonstrating is a series of principles, and the fact of the matter is that these techniques can be applied to any number of energies, be they the Kabbalistic letters, the elements, or the energies of the planets, just to name a few.

To sum up, rebounding is the art of moving another person utilizing subtle energy. The purpose behind this is to strengthen your ability to do this in general and allow you to engage your mental field with the mental field of another person.

    Vital Theory

What is the vital aspect of rebounding fajin and empty force?

The vital aspect of this exercise utilizes pore breathing, and pore breathing is one of the core techniques that will be utilized throughout this course. In this, a practitioner walks up to another practitioner, develops a line of tension with that person, places their body mass onto that person, and the fascia, ligaments, and tendons in the body rebound the other practitioner away from them.

This performs a dynamic loading of the fascia, ligaments, and tendons in the body. The result is that over a period of time, this greatly strengthens the movement of vital energy through the body. As has been mentioned many times in this coursework, the stronger your vital energy is, the stronger your astral, mental, akashic, and non-dual light tend to be as well.

So, the simple fact of the matter is this is a very potent exercise for training the soft tissue in the body. Now, this is also the only one of the three techniques taught today that utilizes momentum. So, it’s important to keep in mind that this will be the most physically draining of the three as well.

To the degree any of these can be used in a martial arts context, this would be the technique. It tends to build a kind of reactive power within the body that allows a person to spring-load force off of them utilizing their own soft tissue. Basically, you’re converting latent potential energy within the body into kinetic energy.

    Astral Theory

We will now discuss the astral aspect of rebounding fajin and empty force.

The astral aspect of this exercise is normally conducted using touch. One participant will place their arms or hands on another participant. In this case, there will not be much in the way of active issuing, and there will be very little to no transfer of momentum.

What will happen is the practitioner touching the other practitioner will want to generate a line of force in that other practitioner. Usually, the elbows are used initially, although any part of the body can do this. You touch on the elbows, press their force down until you generate a line of force from their arms down to their feet, and then release.

This creates a kind of float which loosens their mental bodies. You then begin to astral breathe. After you’ve established this energy in yourself, you then begin to astral breathe into and out of the body of the person you are working with. At a certain point in doing this, the other person will lose their balance or become dizzy and begin to fall over.

    Empty Force Theory

We will now discuss the mental aspect or empty force aspect of rebounding fajin and empty force.

Empty force is not useful for martial arts purposes at all. When this is used against other people, it is most often a conditioned reaction on the part of the recipient. This is the reason why you can go online and find lots of videos of empty force or tai chi masters being completely destroyed by MMA artists.

However, empty force techniques are a very good way of teaching a practitioner how to have their mental body interact with the mental body of another person. In fact, it’s probably the best way to do this.

    Practice Design

We will now discuss practice design in terms of rebounding fajin and empty force.

First of all, you need to get together a group of people to practice with. At a minimum, one other person, but obviously more than one is valuable. Particularly when practiced at the vital level, these exercises can be quite exhausting.

As a general rule, you want to practice this for at least an hour a day. Two hours a day, broken up into a morning and evening session, are ideal. Some practitioners practice as much as five to five and a half hours a day, though this becomes a full-time profession.

Be generous and careful with your practice partners, particularly when working at the vital level. It’s very easy to rack up injuries to your spine and joints. The shoulder, knees, and ankles are particularly vulnerable. In general, you want to practice for a minimum of one hour.

Free Courses on Perseus Arcane Academy

We have a growing collection of free courses available on Perseus Arcane Academy. I am hoping to continue to extend these offerings in 2025.

One thing I have noticed, and this is common in many fields is that because the price of admission is free many people do not even practice what is taught in these courses! I have to say people charge for far less.

Two examples I will give here as to the value, the first ‘The Three Transformations’ this course provided to us by SixtySkills. This method is the most concise version of this practice you will find, I spent a lot of money back in 2012 getting to Thailand and learning directly from Sifu Mark Rasmus. I treasure this time, and one of the many skills he taught that week was the Three Transformations and the many ways you can use it and the many ways understanding this helps you understand other practices like those contained in Franz Bardon’s Initiation into Hermetics far, far better.

So, these courses, we provide free of charge, have far reaching value, but many just watch the introduction and assume as they understand it in theory that that is enough.

The same for our physical training provided by Chris Radnedge and Craig Mallet, these guys have put in decades of time to learn from the best. What you are getting is the condensed results of that work. I have lived in Asia for 20 years and I am still a bit jealous of the teachers these guys have had and the material they have managed to embody. I say all this to say we provide these courses in the hope they will be practiced NOT collected.

It is like having all the best books on how to be strong without doing any of the work. But the guy down the road who had no books, no equipment just got on and DID IT. This is the key in all of this, without the doing, the knowledge of energies, spirits, other worlds and dimensions is pretty meaningless in my opinion.

The Three Transformations: How to Convert Your Energies

The ancient Chinese sages spoke of jing, chi and shen. The Hermeticists of old spoke of vital, astral and mental energies. Both spoke of ways to convert one energy into another. And the Three Transformations were born!

Ever wonder how to do this exactly? Wonder no more. It turns out this is not some mysterious thing that exists only for the greatest of saints. All the details behind how to convert one of the basic natal energies into another, why you would want to perform the Three Transformation and the various issues involved are included in this SixtySkills course.

This course details how to go from more gross, or physical, energies to more subtle energies and back again. It also discusses how to use these energies and what the various transformations do for you. Issue of passive, versus active, development and where to place the various energies are also brought up.

While many consider these things to be a part of a long dead past, the reality is that none of this stuff ever left humanity. It has been here all along. That is not to say it is easy to do or something to be taken lightly.

So, join SixtySkills today and learn how to engage in the fine art of the Three Transformations.

    Who this course is for:

    • Anyone who want to learn the three transformations
    • Anyone who wants to learn yoga
    • Anyone who wants to learn meditation
    • Anyone who wants to learn wicca
    • Anyone who wants to learn magic
    • Anyone who wants to learn magick
    • Anyone who wants to learn Hermetics
    • Anyone who wants to learn how to get more done
    • Anyone who wants to feel more alive

    Introduction to Magic

Often so much time is spent searching for the way, the work is not done. This course solves that issue by providing a firm foundation from which to build. Though this is an introduction that does not mean that it lacks depth.

You might have heard of secret orders and mysterious groups with strange rituals, sordid psychic powers, aspiring mages and intellectuals with secret codes that only the initiate can begin to understand. They walk about with superhuman powers extracted from ancient tantric and hermetic texts, build fragrances that can make you fly, know words that can shatter the world when uttered, and govern all natural things under and above the sun.

Some books spit out. You find them and read them. You learn the formulas and spells and incantations and meditations powerful enough to change the course of the world and bring back a dead pharaoh. You try it, not sure of what you are doing, but nothing ever happens.

The premise of this course is that magic is the science of causing change according to awareness, and it trains silence, quietness and stillness as means to access and cultivate different states of consciousness and a gateway to connect with objects of perception where to operate changes.

All cultural aspects, be they Hermetic, Egyptian, Buddhist, Tantric, or religious kinds of yoga, are ignored so we can focus directly on their purpose with integrity and effortlessness. You will find no lexicon you cannot master, no locks you cannot open, no paths barren by the elites. At the end of the thirteen sessions, magic will hold no mystery to you. It is at this time, that you can start practicing those books, that appeared to lead to nothing, with success.

    Movement Mastery through Kung Fu

Experience the transformative power of Kung Fu with a sample from Chris’s acclaimed “25 Lessons of Kung Fu” course. These lessons provide a glimpse into what I would call genuine Kung Fu, offering insights into the fundamental principles and techniques that have been refined over centuries. Through detailed instructions and demonstrations, fundamental skills and start to improve the quality and awareness of your movement. Discover how to harness the full potential of your body, mind, and spirit as you embark on a journey to unlock your inner strength, vitality, and courage. This sample serves as an invitation to explore the depths of Kung Fu, empowering you to decide if you wish to delve further into this profound practice.

Perseus decided to invite Chris to share his work on our platform as being based in Asia with a background in various traditional martial arts we recognised the quality of his material. After speaking to Chris and discovering his martial history we were very keen to share his work here as he has both the depth of traditional training and the experience of working in the modern world as a medical practitioner. He knows how to make this material work and be understood for the western mind.

Soaking the Mind into the Body

Welcome to this free course, generously donated by Craig Mallett, focused on the practice of “soaking the mind into the body.” In a recent interview with Perseus Arcane Academy, Craig shared insights into this approach, which explores the connection between mind and body in a practical, grounded way. This course is designed to give those curious about his work an introduction to his ideas and techniques. Whether you’re exploring new ways to connect with yourself or simply interested in learning more, this is a great place to start.

About Craig, in his own words…

I started exploring self-cultivation methods in 2003. I have always had a burning curiosity to discover and explore myself and the world around me, starting with the immediate reality of my body. I had many periods where I did the ‘deep dive’ into arts that would help satiate this curiosity, including almost a decade training traditional internal arts with my first internal martial arts teacher, and another decade with a second Daoist teacher (see below for more details). Having a lot of experience with many different modern modalities, mixed with the more traditional studies I have undertaken, brings me a unique vantage point.

I specialize in teaching internal and external physical practices, helping people to explore and restore their relationship to their body and internal landscape, and how that landscape relates to the external world. I aim to teach methods that are sustainable and can be used by anyone from any culture, tradition or lineage, with the idea that these qualities can be explored as a layer over whatever activities each person enjoys pursuing. I have done my best to make my teachings of this complex topic as simple and clear as possible so they are accessible to everyone.

I hold classes on the Sunshine Coast (Australia) and teach workshops around Australia and internationally. I teach online through a variety of avenues, including an online or in person student program, as well as online courses for people who want to get a taste for a more specific part of the training.

I am also trained in both traditional and modern healing methods, which, along with my significant history of working with the physical form, has given me a potent skill set for dealing with physical, emotional and mental troubles. I am in the progress of adding to my skills by studying Traditional Chinese and Daoist Medicine, along with Bazi, Feng Shui and more.

Clint Sabom – The First Three Steps of Initiation into Hermetics

With Initiation Into Hermetics, Franz Bardon has created a masterpiece of magickal ascension, giving all the necessary instructions and theory to rise to adepthood.  The book itself has an energy all to its own. However, getting through the steps of Initiation Into Hermetics can prove to be difficult, arduous work for many.  It’s tempting to slack off on the exercises when life seems to get in the way.  It’s common to stay on one or two steps for years on end or indefinitely.  Most people that start the work never seem to get through the first three steps.

This class is designed to walk you through each step, and share with you my own experience of going through the first three steps.  Yes, there are shortcuts, hacks, and additional tips for achieving magickal equilibrium.  I share what has worked for me.  The class is simple to get through, but it gives you a core foundation to work with in your magickal ascension.

I will remain available to all students via email to answer any questions you may have.  Come take this journey with me!

    Hermetic Fundamentals

Before we begin let me remind all students again that this is a doing course, it is purposely spread over 2-week periods as most people do not lack actual ability but lack the discipline to actually complete something, to repeatedly do something over a period of time. So this is the challenge for you, can you complete this regardless of your mind saying there is no need to? If you can complete this course, then you can go onto other courses here or elsewhere and know that you have what it takes to complete them and be successful. To follow through on a decision with actions.

You see many collect information, equating knowing it with being able to do it. So sadly, even after decades of this approach they still have very little to show for it other than a mindset that says, ‘I know it’. Yes, but can they do any of it?

    Build the Foundation

In this course you will develop all the foundation skills required for magic, meditation and energy work. You will touch each skill and get to know it. You will spend 2 weeks on every lesson. So, there is no rush, the course is 10 Lessons long and after lesson 1, all other lessons are released to you in 2-week increments.

    A Guide to Sphere Quabbalah

This book covers aspects of The Key to True Quabbalah, by Franz Bardon, and expands them. It is divided into four parts that serve the magician, the theurgist and the learning quabbalist.

  • The Merits of Body-Based Training for Meditative, Yogic, and Magical Practice

The Merits of Body-Based Training for Meditative, Yogic, and Magical Practice

Today, we’re going to explore the merits of body-based training, particularly within the meditative, yogic, and magical communities. Surprisingly, this topic doesn’t get the attention it deserves. This is odd because many of the best practitioners—regardless of their specific system—are often described as physical dynamos. There’s a reason for that, and it’s something we’ve discussed extensively in the Sixty Skills curriculum.

While we’ve often highlighted the value of body training, we haven’t thoroughly explored how it powers the entire process and fits into esoteric practices overall, in this post we begin the process.

    1. Body-Based Training Powers the Process

When discussing concepts like vital energy, astral energy, mental energy, akasha energy, and non-dual light, it’s easy to overlook a crucial point: your physical body serves as the primary mechanism to power these processes.

If your training is grounded in the physical realm, you have access to a significant amount of energy that can be harnessed to fuel your practice. In contrast, a purely mental practice—such as focused concentration or releasing exercises—draws from a far more limited energy source. Mental energy alone is restricted, and while it can be slightly increased with effort, it doesn’t compare to the vast potential energy available through physical engagement.

There’s a curious phenomenon where physical energy can be converted into subtle energy, amplifying your internal power. Interestingly, the reverse isn’t as straightforward; manifesting physical outcomes requires enormous amounts of subtle energy. However, that’s a discussion for another time.

    2. It Works Fast

The physical body provides raw energy that can be quickly converted into other forms of energy. As a result, progress in meditation, magic, or spiritual enlightenment happens much faster when grounded in the physical world.

In traditional teachings, it’s often mentioned that beings intentionally incarnate in the physical realm because progression happens more swiftly here than in subtle dimensions. Why is that? Simply put, without a physical body, there’s no breath—and without breath, there’s no generation of astral or vital energies. These energies are essential for creating mental, akashic, or non-dual energies.

In the absence of a physical form, entities rely solely on focus to generate energy, which is a slow and laborious process. Even beings in subtle planes acknowledge that not having a physical body slows their progression, despite the fact that time operates differently in those realms.

    3. Engaging the Astral Realm Through the Body

Breath and astral energy are closely connected. Many meditative systems engage reality only at the mental level, which, while effective, takes an extraordinary amount of time. However, by working with the astral through physical practices, you can quickly generate and convert astral energy into mental energy.

The astral realm is considered a semi-physical layer of reality, a more refined version of the physical plane we usually take for granted. Engaging this level provides more resources to convert into mental energy, accelerating your path toward enlightenment.

Additionally, this process works both ways: astral energy can empower the physical body. This two-way relationship explains why body-centric training is so effective for developing both physical strength and spiritual growth.

There’s a raw truth to physical training that helps cut through illusions, making the meditative process more effective.

    4. Body-Centric Training Grounds You

One often-overlooked benefit of body-based practices is grounding. Truly enlightened individuals are often described as being profoundly present—more so than most people walking around in daily life.

If you approach meditation solely through mental exercises like astral wandering or mental projection, you may become ungrounded. While this isn’t inherently negative, it often leads to slower progress and an increased likelihood of delusion.

Working with the body on a meditative or yogic level eliminates much of this delusion by connecting you firmly to the present moment. As Henry Rollins once said, “Two hundred pounds weighs two hundred pounds.” There’s a raw truth to physical training that helps cut through illusions, making the meditative process more effective.

    5. The Greatest Practitioners Were Physically Engaged

Throughout history, many revered spiritual figures—Pythagoras, Christ, Buddha, Laozi, and Milarepa—were highly physical individuals. This fact is often overlooked, but it’s essential to recognize.

The practical reason for this is simple: the body generates energy. More energy means greater potential for spiritual growth and magical practice. If you ignore this physical component, you’re likely missing a key element of why the most enlightened individuals were so deeply connected to the physical world.

The Living World: Why You’re Here

You incarnate in this physical realm for a reason. This world isn’t designed for passive existence; it’s a place for action and growth. While life’s challenges can sometimes feel like a prison, treating it as such is counterproductive.

Your experiences, decisions, and physical engagement in the world contribute to your development—especially in terms of leadership and responsibility. Being physically grounded supports this growth and allows you to make meaningful progress.

    Conclusion

These are just a few of the benefits of engaging in body-based training as part of your magical, meditative, or esoteric practice. If you found this discussion helpful, consider liking the video and subscribing for more content.

  • The Path of Manifestation: Understanding How the Universe Works – Part 2

The Path of Manifestation: Understanding How the Universe Works – Part 2

    Introduction

Welcome to the second part in our three-part series on how the universe works, specifically the path of manifestation. Now, the path of manifestation is just that—it’s about bringing things into existence. Another way of saying that is taking this undifferentiated level of existence, that non-dual level, the god, go-head Divine Providence, the true Nirvana—whatever you want to call it—and breaking it down into more discreet, separate pieces to allow reality to express itself.

    See Part 1 here.

    A Quantitative Approach to Manifestation

Number one, this is going to be a more quantitative approach to things than qualitative, which is a fancy way of stating it’s going to be more power-oriented. Power, in this regard, is very, very important. All of the different things you need to do to express power have to be well done, fully engaged, and strong in order to bring things into manifestation. In the SixtySkills system, or IIH from Franz Bardon, we talk about the importance of body training. This is a key component to manifestation; if you haven’t done this kind of work, manifestation for the most part isn’t going to work very well – this aspect is dealt with in the Master Course tackling physical development from various angles. But I’ll get to some specifics regarding that as well.

    Single-Point Focus

Two, there’s going to be a big—pun intended—focus on single-point of focus exercises. If you look at masters of physical manifestation—and I’m talking about the examples where we can determine this actually happened and wasn’t some kind of scam—all the practitioners have something in common. They tend to be very advanced practitioners of single-pointed focus exercises or sahati-type exercises. You need to be, pun intended, on point regarding all of those because it’s interesting in that you’re taking this undifferentiated, diffuse level of reality and turning it into something concrete. Just as the example of carbon being compressed in order to create a diamond, well, you end up with a very similar phenomenon here. Simply put, you need to be able to hold your attention at the tip of a pen, and you need to be able to do this for extended periods of time in order to take these kind of ethereal ideas and turn them into something solid. This seems to be one of the key components of that. For what it’s worth, in the various intelligences I’ve spoken to over the years—or IE Spirits regarding physical manifestation—they have all been very adamant: you need to be able to hold single-pointed focus for about an hour, and that can be done, but it may take you a few years to get there.

    Balancing Manifestation and Enlightenment

So if you’re interested in physical manifestation or the path of manifestation, get cracken three. And this shouldn’t need to be said, but some of our more mentally oriented folks seem to miss the point on this one: the path of manifestation is about getting things done. This is important because a lot of traditions, particularly out of Asia, overvalue the path of enlightenment. Now, they do this at the expense of the path of manifestation, the result of which is those societies can have very enlightened people but their technology is often primitive in comparison.

Let’s talk about this a little bit. Buddhism, for example, is again very much a path of enlightenment type thing that doesn’t pay a whole lot of attention to the path of manifestation. But if you go to ancient China, who invented writing, meters, engineering, medicine—well, that was the dos. And in dosm, the path of manifestation and the path of enlightenment are equally valued. This is also true in Western meditation or what’s known as hermetics. In hermetics, the path of enlightenment and the path of manifestation are considered equally valuable.

Now, there is something important here that has to be kept in mind: if you’re just doing manifestation, it’s easy to get sidetracked and never work on enlightenment. In theory, the best approach is to pursue enlightenment first because, honestly, it shouldn’t take much more than a year or two, and then work on manifestation. Why? Well, if you’ve had that enlightened experience, you’re then in contact with your true inner nature—some people would call this God. This is going to reduce the frequency with which you, to be blunt, act like a douchebag. If you just pursue the path of manifestation, it’s easy to never get around to doing the enlightenment work—that’s really what it comes down to. But if you don’t pursue manifestation, you have no ability to express your enlightenment. Again, that’s that kind of chicken-and-egg, circular, firing squad problem. The bottom line is: to be a fully developed human being, you need to do both, but ultimately, the path of manifestation is about getting things done. For what it’s worth, from what I’ve gathered over the years—last three decades of the meditative experience incarnating in the here and now in this world that you and I live in—is very difficult to do. Number one, there’s a long waiting line in order to be able to do so; number two, there’s a long waiting line; and number three, if you choose to do nothing with your life when you have the opportunity to do something with your life, it would appear the punishment for that in the afterlife is quite severe. This is not a place where you just hang out. Along those lines, I’ve frequently seen people who achieved a certain level of enlightenment and then basically died shortly thereafter—they weren’t doing anything here, so there was no point in them hanging around. The path of manifestation is about getting things done; keep that in mind.

    The Mechanism of Expression

What’s the most common method for engaging the path of manifestation? The most common path for doing this is to place an idea, thought form, mental construct—if you will—on the astral level of existence. If you do this often enough and you pump enough energy into it long enough, generally speaking, that thing that you’re picturing will come to pass; it will actually happen. This is one of the reasons why rich people tend to stay rich, poor people tend to stay poor, sick people tend to stay sick, weak people tend to stay weak, and strong people tend to stay strong—because they’re subconsciously putting this picture of what they want or what they perceive themselves to be into the astral, and it feeds itself. Pretty simple. You know, Arnold Schwarzenegger was by a pool with reg Park, the most famous bodybuilder of Arnold’s early career, and he talked about having this vision that he was a king on a mountain, on a throne, and all these other kinds of things happened. Those kinds of positive visualization drills—lots of these manifestation experts give you—they work. You have to give it the effort.

    The Bottleneck

Now we’re about to get to the catch part of this in a moment, but that’s the most common approach for manifestation magic. However, now we get to my favorite part of the path of manifestation—it’s called the bottleneck. If you want to manifest something in your life, you have to give it a mechanism for doing so. As one manifestation expert once said, you can work the most kickass Jupiter ritual you want, but if you’re a bum living on a street corner, the best you’re going to do is find a wallet with a couple hundred bucks in it. Why? Because that’s all of the work you’ve done to give expression to that energy that you just put out into the subtle worlds. If you want to physically manifest something, you have to give it a mechanism of expression. No mechanism of expression, no expression. And I can tell you, if you put all of this work into the subtle world through ritual or internal power and you don’t give it a mechanism of expression, you’re going to fall prey to a lot of delusions—you’re going to have a lot of visions—all of this, because that energy has to bleed out somewhere. It can’t just stay static in one place; it has to move, has to express itself. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to express itself in the way you necessarily want it to.

When I was working with Jupiter rituals a couple of years ago, I had this very intense vision of being in Paris for Fashion Week—pred-aorte type stuff—and in the crowd with all these celebrities and all this other kind of stuff. Fine, well, eventually I was featured in a documentary that was never released. Here’s the thing: I’m not an actor, I have no connections to Hollywood, I am not part of the Jet Set, I am not part of the fashion scene. So no matter how strongly I manifested that vision, without becoming those other things, a small indie documentary that was ultimately never released was as close to that as I could get. It was a great experience, and being on set was a lot of fun, but again, if you want something to manifest, you have to give it a mechanism of expression, or it doesn’t happen.

That said, using things like manifestation magic through the path of manifestation—wealth magic and all this other kind of stuff—can greatly accelerate your rate of progression. If you’re willing to do the work, you wind up with that chance meeting with a big donor in an elevator; you run into another individual working on something comparable to what you’re working on; you get together—everything happens. But you have to do the work, and this leads to Part B of the bottleneck issue.

Physical Manifestation and the Final Challenge

Physical manifestation is physical manifestation in a real setting—a sheet of paper on fire, for example. That kind of thing, yeah, it happens. I’ve never met anybody who had an innate ability at it. I’ve had many encounters with people who’ve had experiences with it. This is kind of the problem in that, like with a lot of esoterica, if you don’t have the right training methodology, you can get bottlenecks at certain levels of reality. The biggest one we have is the bottleneck of subtle energy at the astral or vital or near physical—not being able to translate directly into the physical world. And this is confusing because the theory works perfectly well on the way up the path of enlightenment. You make energies more diffuse, you gather things together—boom—it kicks over; everything works as it should. On the way back down, from the non-dual to the osic to the mental to the astral, that whole process works exactly as it should. But that final step between the astral or vital and the physical seems to take a little something else. So single-pointed focus exercises are certainly a part of this. The people I’ve met who pulled this stuff off have pulled it off occasionally, but they can’t generally do it on command. Maybe one of you wonderful people out there can figure out what the missing ingredient in the secret sauce is.

How the Universe Works: The Path of Enlightenment – Part 1

    Introduction

We are going to discuss how the universe works and the path of enlightenment. This is going to be a three-part series where I will first discuss the path of enlightenment, then the path of manifestation, and finally, how the universe, for lack of a better term, evolves.

Because very little of the magical or meditative path can be measured scientifically, the community is full of a lot of nonsense. This is a fact. You have to be very careful about this. The number one sign of this is people who default to philosophy rather than mechanism when it comes to enlightenment

    The Path of Enlightenment

Some would refer to this as the upward path. That term works well enough, and there are reasons why you would want to describe it this way. However, the first thing you need to keep in mind is that the process of enlightenment is mechanical. Ignore the philosophy attached to it. In fact, I will go a step further and say that if you’re inquiring about enlightenment and the person you’re talking to automatically defaults to philosophy, ignore them. Additionally, if they get into emotion, ignore them again.

Your perception of what is happening needs to be fundamentally grounded in the mechanics of how to make it happen. This is why, as I discuss often discuss, the true enlightenment state—beyond energy, beyond time, beyond spatial constraint, beyond sensation, and beyond emotion—is a thing that can only be defined in the negative. This is one of the few things that the great saints and yogis of all traditions seem to agree upon. From that standpoint, it needs to be taken very seriously. If someone starts talking about other aspects of it—things that can be positively defined—they are wrong. If they go into the philosophy of it, quite frankly, they are wasting your time. Since it is something that can’t be defined, it is by definition only something that can be experienced. Philosophy isn’t going to help you get there, and people who fall back on it are usually trying to sell you something.

Because very little of the magical or meditative path can be measured scientifically, the community is full of a lot of nonsense. This is a fact. You have to be very careful about this. The number one sign of this is people who default to philosophy rather than mechanism when it comes to enlightenment.

    The Process of Enlightenment

The process of enlightenment is about taking the differentiated pieces of reality and putting them back together in order to reach this undifferentiated state. The best way I can describe this is that it’s akin to having a puzzle on the table—one of those jigsaw puzzles with hundreds of little pieces. But here’s the thing: when you put the picture back together, the picture then disappears.

This is important to understand. As you take all these differentiated pieces of reality—sensation, sight, sound, emotion, concepts, mental constructs, and even Aasha itself—and put them back together in your mind’s eye, it generates a lot of light, brilliant white light in fact. This is why people talk about the light of enlightenment. However, that light is actually the step before the final step because the light, since it can be defined, isn’t actually the endpoint. The step beyond that is where that jigsaw puzzle in front of you disappears. That is the final stage.

What happens when you go there seems to be really important, but again, nobody can positively define what that is. One telltale sign of someone who has accomplished this is that they have very little energy around them. Why? Because that energy has crossed over that barrier to one degree or another. Someone who is energetically powerful can have power, and power is useful, but that is not a sign of complete enlightenment. You must have that energy merging back together in order to get to that next step. It’s a bit of a conundrum, but again, it’s mechanical. Keep this in mind—you are just taking lots of little pieces and putting them back together again.

    Why is This Hard?

As reality comes from this completely undifferentiated state and starts breaking down into smaller and smaller pieces so it can express itself, things get sticky. They get emotionally sticky. Anyone who has ever had a deep-seated emotion from trauma or even happiness can tell you that once it really takes hold, completely getting rid of it is really hard. These differentiated pieces of reality can also take on a kind of consciousness of their own. They are not willingly going to give that up either. So putting all that back together gets really hard.

This makes reassembling things back together again difficult. Sometimes the pieces don’t want to go back together. Sometimes you’re holding onto them too hard—for good reasons or bad reasons. You still have a physical existence to maintain, and being wary of people in a dangerous society is a survival skill you may not want to let go of altogether.

    Different Approaches to Enlightenment

Classically speaking, there are generally two approaches: the brute force (overwhelming power) method and the finesse method.

    The Brute Force Method

The overwhelming power method is the most common because learning it is quicker. However, applying it requires you to do a lot of things that are frequently unpleasant, such as:

    • Retaining your sexual essence for long periods of time.
    • Adopting a vegan diet to facilitate energy flow.
    • Engaging in hours of concentrated practice.
    • Practicing in tightly enclosed spaces, like a cave, where energy builds up.

This approach is common because it is easier to pull off, though it can be physically and mentally demanding. When reality recombines, the experience can be disturbing and difficult. It is also generally uncontrolled, which is why many who experience enlightenment don’t know exactly how it happened.

    The Finesse Method

The finesse approach takes a long time to pull off. This method involves projecting your mind into different levels of reality in a focused manner. In the Sixty Skills system or Franz Bardon’s work, this involves the vital, astral, mental, and cosmic levels. You learn how to neutralize all the forces at each level of reality, which can take years. However, this makes them looser and easier to elevate back up into the undifferentiated whole.

As you get better at this process, you eventually join all these energies together, which leads to the final stage before everything disappears. Because you have learned to work with and release these forces individually, it becomes an ability—something you can do at will. In meditation traditions, this is incredibly rare.

    The Final Step

Now, you reach the point where all energies merge together. To cross into true enlightenment, everything must disappear. Personally, my experience is that as these energies merge upwards into one, I enter a space of extreme brilliance. At some point, I lose sensation of my body and become the light. Reality breaks down. I reach a boundary layer where energy slowly processes through, and at a certain point, I disappear.

I don’t know how long I am gone for, but it is not the same as falling asleep. That is the true enlightenment state—the Nirvanic realm beyond energy, sensation, emotion, and spatial constraint. What happens there seems to be important, but it is difficult to define. The more I practice, the more repeatable it becomes.

Once this happens, many people quit. Depending on their health and well-being, they might decide to die at that point. However, for those who wish to continue, there is also the path of manifestation—the journey back down, where you take this undifferentiated whole and start breaking it down so that things can manifest.

This will be the topic of the next discussion on the path of manifestation. Learn more about the methods involved in doing all this yourself here.
