# The Path of Self-Discovery: Integrating Introspection into Your Magical Practice

## Introduction

Today we catch up with a student of Andres Magic and Mystical Introspection. I like to follow up with students of the various curriculums we have ongoing to see how they are doing and to learn more about their past experiences. Many of the students enrolled in our courses are highly skilled with a lifetime of interesting experiences. Today's interview is no different with spirituality and psychic gifts running through the family. We have kept the name out of the interview for privacy reasons.

## Interview

**PAA: In your opinion, what role does introspection play in Bardon's magical training? How can practitioners effectively integrate this into their daily lives?**

In my opinion, introspection should play an integral role in magical training, because it helps the magician become aware of his own unconscious habits and how they function automatically in daily life. You begin to know yourself and the how’s and why’s of your personality.

Magicians can incorporate introspection into their daily life by remembering and recording their activities at the end of the day, taking note of their thoughts and feelings throughout the day. They’ll soon become aware of how thoughts and feelings are tied to each other, and how they begin to form character traits with enough repetition.

**PAA: How does André Consciência's [Magical Mystical Introspection](https://courses.perseusarcaneacademy.com/b/pJtvd) course build upon Bardon's foundational teachings? What are its primary objectives?**

André takes Bardon’s teachings and applies them towards introspection and to the transformation of one’s character. His exercises connect to each other and support each other, so that each next exercise is supported by the combined strength of the previous ones.

From my current understanding a primary objective of André’s system is to help the magician become a whole and balanced person, who will then be a positive influence to those around him.

**PAA: Can you discuss the importance of daily small improvements as suggested in the Soul Mirror practices? How can this principle be applied beyond magical work?**

I think this principle applies to everything and not just magic, a personal issue I had was getting impatient and frustrated with myself. I would give up quickly, because I had set impossible expectations for myself. But when we work on something new, even for just a few minutes a day, that is progress, and it takes time for noticeable change to occur. We should be patient with ourselves and remember to count each victory, so that we stay motivated throughout our path.

**What specific exercises or practices from the Soul Mirror concept have you found most transformative in your magical journey?**

One exercise that I enjoyed is from level 1, where you focus on a feeling and try to see what the feeling has to show you. For most of my life I have felt trapped and suffocated, because of personal circumstances. It felt like there was no escape. And so I focused and fixed the feeling of being trapped firmly in my concentration. I felt the usual suffocation and heaviness, but an image formed in my mind:

A vast, expansive desert in Mexico; I see myself riding bareback on a galloping horse. Its hooves thundered.

Nothing to tie me, or the horse down

Free

Under a clear blue sky

**PAA: What challenges have you encountered while engaging with the Magical Mystical Introspection course, and how have you overcome them?**

I’ve struggled a lot with personal issues and mindsets that have held me back for years, and this course has helped me identify why I act and think the way that I do, giving me the tools that I needed to transform myself in order to overcome my limitations. I think what’s helped me the most is Andre’s guidance and insights which helped me look at areas of my life that I was blind to, or unwilling to look at. I have overcome some of these issues through introspection and the exercises given. And when I try to remember who I was before magic and MMI; it’s like that person doesn’t exist anymore, and is now a shadow of who I used to be. My mind is clearer, my emotions are more balanced, and the energy that was tied up in negative patterns has been freed, and can now be directed towards more positive and constructive activities.

**PAA: Can you share your experiences with spirits and how they have influenced your understanding of magical defense? What strategies do you employ to protect yourself during these encounters?**

I have two memorable experiences that I’d like to share. The first experience happened at my grandmother’s house. The ride there is a long one, and because I don’t drive; I use that time to meditate or read. I don’t remember what I was contemplating that day, but it had an effect on me. After we arrived I took a nap in one of the rooms, and as I dreamed I began to witness different conversations at different times and places between family members at that house. I saw them in a non-linear fashion which disorientated me as well. Suddenly, I became aware of a presence next to me which frightened me terribly, it appeared to be a floating head with stringy hair and a pale featureless face. I instinctively retreated into silence, as I had some skill with silence meditation, and within that silence the fear dissipated and I was able to observe the being neutrally until I woke up.

The second experience I had, involved a friend of a friend who was messing with Ouija boards and they decided after two previous attempts, where nothing happened, that they would then take it to the ruins of an ancient castle. It went about as well as you might expect, and after a week of being tormented by an invisible presence my friend reached out to me because they knew I had an interest in the occult. I had no real experience in ridding someone of an attachment, but I figured the best thing I could do was transfer my consciousness to their apartment and cleanse the area and banish it remotely. Without banishing my own space afterwards… The next morning I was studying tarot with a friend when they mentioned that I had a heavy presence around me. I immediately knew what it was and I banished it as best I could. And later that night I woke up in the astral plane where I saw next to my bed a floating head with a flaming aura that screamed. I wasn’t afraid because at this point I was harassed by spirits almost nightly. I tried to hit it because I had enough at that point, and I wasn’t going to let another spirit bother my sleep then I lost consciousness again. Where I woke up to the spirit trying to enter my field. I somehow grabbed the spirit and held it close to me and somehow remembered that Akasha could be used to deal with spirits and so I called the akasha forth next to me, and I could feel the spirit being sucked away until I heard a pop. I was finally able to sleep properly and woke up the next morning exhausted both physically and mentally. I told my teacher what happened and they said some spirits don’t take it too kindly when you mess with their “snack”.

As for techniques you can cultivate silence and use it to negate the effects of an opposing spirit. Also, learn a banishing of your choice and use it before and after any magical or meditation exercise, and learn how to ward your rooms if you are targeted often. Finally, please don’t mess with things that you’re not able to put back in their box.

**PAA: You mentioned having experiences with magical abilities manifesting in dreams. Can you elaborate on these experiences and their significance in your practice?**

Both sides of my family have psychic gifts of varying strengths and one side practices witchcraft. And from a young age I was told that I was clairvoyant, but like all kids I grew out of it the older I got. Now that I’ve started to practice magic more, including exercises from MMI, I’ve begun to awaken some abilities that have laid dormant, some even manifesting in my dreams. Like assuming the form of an archangel to drive out a spirit or meeting people or deceased pets in the dream planes. I’m not sure of their significance yet. Maybe a sign of things to come or a natural aptitude.

**PAA: What advice would you give to someone looking to enhance their dream recall or lucid dreaming abilities as a means of exploring their magical potential?**

Get a journal, and start to record your dreams. If you have issues with remembering or seeing dreams then you could practice visualization, using all of your senses, throughout the day making sure to lessen screen time as well, because that offloads visualization to the phone or computer. Learning how to draw can also help, because that engages the visual centers of your brain. These activities have helped me with dream recall and having more vivid dreams. I also recommended the book “The art of dreaming” by Carlos Castaneda as its exercises can help with learning how to stabilize lucid dreams.

I am very thankful for being given the opportunity to take part in this interview, and I hope that I can continue to learn from Andre and his course. He has so much material I’m not sure if I will ever be able to finish any of them, but magic isn’t meant to be finished, it’s not a book meant to be opened and closed. It’s an endless process and a path with many wonderful and terrible things. And I pray that all of those following this course find success, and are able to become who they want to be.

**PAA: Many thanks, we appreciate you sharing your experiences.**
