## Interview Questions for Magnus Sarmarx

### 1 Origins and Purpose

**- What was the original impulse behind writing **[**The Great Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings**](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/the-great-treatise-on-the-reintegration-of-being)**?**

In 2023, the astrological year was ruled by the Moon, and I had already prepared myself for that astrologically. I had mapped out all the Mansions of the Moon, their days, and their proper hours. With all of the Moon’s powers and forces at their peak, I began invoking Emrudue constantly within every 7th Mansion of the Moon throughout that year. What an experience—to have a room so attuned to the seven motions of the Moon that you could actually see the spirits moving through their own elements, bringing extreme good fortune and success.

So we decided to create the book to bless, in a deeper way, those truly devoted to magic. In its construction, the book could only be written during the 7th Mansions of the Moon in that year—and afterward, I could not change anything in it.

I tried, but Emrudue gave me his opinion. His final word was that the book already has its magical form, and even the variations in some of the practices are there to accommodate people with very different elemental and astrological constitutions from mine.

I explained all this to André Consciência when I gave him the book. Every time he received something new, he would master it completely—and only afterward would we add his insights and evaluations. I saw the book stretching his practice nearly into the year ruled by Jupiter.

The purpose was truly this: a living book—a book that chooses, blesses, and makes everything better.

**- Did you envision it as a teaching tool for a specific audience, or as a universal key for adepts of any tradition?**

In Emrudue’s vision for the book, it was intended for everyone “who is chosen” to be its keeper. Every word of it was tailored to match the disposition of those it selects.

### 2 The Plus Pole

**- The concept of the “Plus Pole” is central to the work. Could you elaborate on its genesis and how it differs from more traditional magical polarity concepts?**

The Plus Pole in magic is the most essential core of the work. It’s not part of any doctrine per se. Some might argue that the principle of polarity is found in the Kybalion, and while that’s true, the Kybalion only opens a doorway to it. The Plus Pole predates and transcends such texts. It is the foundation of the highest beings—what Rah Omir Quintscher called Evisul and Ultreb—and even beyond that.

Every being has a very powerful point of connection to it near the solar plexus. It’s a kind of rift into the Akasha. At that point, one feels the Plus Pole alive.

The Plus Pole is an exclamation! Nothing escapes its enhancement. It is the work of something far greater—a power that comes from beyond.

In this book, you'll see that all practices begin only after a deep dive within the mage himself. It’s structured that way so the mage can fully grasp magical concepts and power—beyond what the logical mind can normally access. You’ll come to know these things so deeply and uniquely that there will no longer be any separation.

**- So, how was it activated in you in a way you could understand and apply?**

Through a very clever and practical magical method.

First, I must say there are many ways to access it, but I chose the path of evocation. In this book, you’ll now find a very solid and secure foundation for that path.

**- How does the Plus Pole practically change the life of a magician once integrated?**

On the magical planes of existence, the only ruling concept above all is Hierarchy. This is not a religious idea—it’s simply the way things are. Every other principle—loyalty, love, trust, care—is a byproduct of this royalty.

A being called Lord, King, or Queen is so vast that it encompasses all others. And those others live within it—like blood flowing through a living body, blessing and being blessed.

So the answer is: they (the beings) will fight with you, for you, and around you—until the world accepts, bends, or, if necessary, breaks—and your aims are achieved. You become truly precious and unique to them. You will see them in their true colors—beyond the costumes of religion and inherited prejudice.

If anything dares to harm you, they will take it personally—and act. Most of the time, they’ll act to bless your everyday path.

These beings—what we can call Plus-Poled Beings—are not the same as those found in religion. A practical example: if you practice magic within a religious framework, you're likely doing more religion than magic. The same being called in a Plus Pole evocation will act completely differently.

Why? Because they’re not the same. Just like in daily life—how many people do you know who share the same name?

When a being draws near to someone whose Plus Pole is deeply active, it causes them to feel something far deeper than a prayer.

A practical demonstration: in Enochian magic, there is a powerful spell-word—"HOAT". Every time you speak it magically, a group of beings gathers around you to bless you. A calm, serene energy fills the air. You see them gathering around the manifestation of the magic. The Plus Pole is even deeper than that.

Why does this word produce an effect so similar to the Plus Pole?

Because, like it, it echoes "HOME".

Home is not merely a house or space—it is “the event that absolutely nourishes your heart.” They gather because they are returning home.

### 3 Emrudue and the 7th Lunar Mansion

**- Emrudue is a powerful presence in the text. Can you speak about your relationship with this being and how practitioners might begin to approach them?**

What I can say is this: just like in the book, I started by going directly to him—to his "home"—and gaining his favor. The method presented in the book is extremely powerful. I was already a very fortunate person before meeting him, but afterward I became excessively, extravagantly, and extremely fortunate!

Even someone who’s not initiated can receive great blessings, grace, and good luck simply by having him around—just like Franz Bardon stated in The Practice of Magical Evocation. **- What is the deeper significance of situating the work within the current of the 7th Lunar Mansion?**

The “home” of a spirit is the concentration of all its might. How would you feel if even the sound of the trees around you began spelling out good luck?

### 4 Structure and Safety

**- The book evolved from four smaller works into a single compendium. Why was this integration necessary?**

“Smaller” is often the core of what is most essential in all things.

**- You mention safeguards for practitioners—what is the greatest danger to those who undertake this work without adequate preparation?**

I truly believe that if I answer this in too much detail, some people will dare to go straight for it, ignoring all the safeguards that were so carefully and cleverly put in place. So, I’d rather not say too much—because if they can’t know, they can’t misuse.

### 5 Practical Manifestation vs. Spiritual Attainment

**- The work promises blessings such as success, wealth, and good fortune. How do you balance these material results with the higher aim of reintegration with Divinity?**

The work focuses on a present divinity, not a distant, unreachable concept. And if you find a “divinity” that doesn’t offer blessings, grace, good luck, wealth, happiness, success, and good fortune—then you are certainly looking in the wrong direction. That’s not divinity. That’s better called by its real name: tragedy.

Most religions, in practice, tend to operate in the Minus Pole. And I’m not referring to their founders, but to what people have done with their legacies afterward.

You mentioned “material results.” Let me offer this as a gift for reflection:

“All is Mind. The Universe is Mental.”

The famous quote from the Kybalion, right?

But it’s not referring to “mind” in the everyday sense.

In ancient times, the most precious treasures were hidden in plain sight. This phrase—“All is Mind. The Universe is Mental”—is a focal lens for using the Archimedean lever upon the Akasha.

It means “The All”—that is, everything: matter, energy, spirit, soul, mind, body, planes, realities, time, space, dimensions—is actively made and sustained by Mind. That Mind can be shaped, altered, and transmuted just like a thought when you concentrate on it!

Franz Bardon, in Initiation into Hermetics, in his meditation on the Earth Element and Akasha for materialization, focuses on already having the desired effect.

That’s the same as saying: “By negating everything else, you now live, breathe, and are blessed inside your goal—above all and everything.”

But to fully grasp this, you need to be in a state beyond the logical mind. The Akashic principle deals with the infinite. A single event can be interpreted in many different ways, and for each observer, the Akasha makes all those perspectives valid—each in their own way of living.

A great event called a “miracle” might appear to one person as a simple effect, to another as a magical act, and to a third as a purely physical occurrence. And all of them would be correct, from their point of view.

The Akashic principle is vast—it accommodates everything.

So I ask you: how delightful and real would it be to live inside this truth: “All is Mind. The Universe is Mental”?

If you want a concrete example, look into the life story of Dr. Joe Dispenza. Studying his life and experiences will give you more than just a step—it will give you a full footing in this high magical path.

Now, regarding the gods: I’d like to point you to a very special group called the Mahavidyas (“Great Wisdoms”). They are ten tantric goddesses: Kali, Tara, Tripura Sundari, Bhuvaneshvari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi, and Kamala (Kamalatmika).

I enjoy exploring new pantheons and often journey through their power currents to see how they live and act. These particular goddesses are part of a greater one: Mahadevi, the Supreme Goddess in Hinduism.

If you have a great goddess like that, who loves you unconditionally, and everything is her blessed, graced body—how amazing is it to be alive in such a world?

There are many gods out there, but if your definition of “God” leads you to something that doesn’t bless you, it’s wise to change direction fast.

**- Do you see this work as a complete path, or a preparation for deeper initiatic processes?**

This work gives the magician protection and introduces him to great blessed beings who make a real difference. After that, he can rise even higher—and that path already exists. I’ve already walked it, though it hasn’t yet been properly recorded.

### 6 The Archdemons and Elemental Forces

**- The book involves Archdemons and elemental hierarchies. How do these forces integrate with the Plus Pole current?**

Long ago, they were all simply called "spirits". Within the structure of practice and power presented in this book, they function exactly according to their nature. As I mentioned earlier in this interview, the beings you’ll encounter in this work may share names with others found in traditions or religions—but they respond in a completely unique way, even the so-called elemental ones.

Where the Minus Pole divides, the Plus Pole integrates. All these beings are present because they hold great proficiency in the elements they rule. They are looked up to for rulership and inspiration by the beings below them. Some of them rule over more than one element, but for the sake of structure, I decided to fix them to the element they govern most deeply.

**- How should practitioners approach these beings without falling into fear or imbalance?**

They will not be alone.

By working diligently with the book, Emrudue will always be with them. Beings like him can change their appearance, form new bodies, and even multiply at will. This is not a challenge for such a being.

Yes, practitioners may sometimes find things a little "odd"—as everyone working with magic eventually experiences: seeing things on the astral plane, conscious dreams, presences. But really—what hasn't already been portrayed in a movie or on the news these days?

As practitioners ascend the elemental scales, more beings will come to their side. The magical tools and weapons they craft can even sleep beside them—they remain active. I also recommend portable artifacts, something they can carry with them everywhere. These tools are truly alive and can make a real difference.

### 7 Transmission and Legacy

**- Is the title in homage to the “Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings into Their Original Estate, Virtues and Powers both Spiritual and Divine” by Martinès de Pasqually?**

A long time ago, before I found Bardon, I used to study and practice a whole range of material in the vein of Eliphas Levi, Papus, Agrippa, even Francis Barrett, and a broad spectrum of others dealing with alchemy and hermeticism. At that time, I also studied what I could find on Pasqually. I first came across Pasqually through his disciple, Louis Claude de Saint-Martin.

Saint-Martin is quite well-known within AMORC and also within another order I was part of back then, the SCA. They’re a Catholic order (or perhaps more accurately, a Christian order) very tied to Christianity — or, put differently, a Christian order strongly aligned with Catholicism or with pre-established religious structures. Their rituals are traditional along those lines, which, in my opinion, makes them limited in scope — since magic practiced through religion tends to serve religion more than it serves magic.

Louis Claude de Saint-Martin is also deeply connected to a sub-order within AMORC called the Traditional Martinist Order. When you study it, you find that Saint-Martin, as a disciple of Pasqually, claimed that Pasqually used to do things similar to what we do today — such as evoking spirits using seals and names, directing them toward specific effects and blessings. However, since Saint-Martin had a more religious and traditionally Kabbalistic (Jewish) perspective, he considered Pasqually's methods “too much” and decided to simplify and compress them within the boundaries of the doctrines he followed. In doing so, he omitted many aspects — things we only regained as options later on with Rah Omir and Bardon.

Our book carries out much of what Pasqually was trying to do with the knowledge and tools available to him at the time. But Pasqually died before he could finish. So, in a way, "we" finished it for him using what we now have thanks to Rah Omir and Bardon.

**- Do you believe this work will adapt to different cultures and magical systems, or does it require a specific initiatic current?**

This specific work is tied to Emrudue and the 7th Mansion of the Moon. If someone feels called to possess it, it’s because the book has chosen them.

Some of the practices are specially tailored—in a blessed and living way—to receive these chosen ones, however they come, with all their unique ways of being. There are exactly 333 copies of this book. The magical beings and forces attached to it will have the back of each of these individuals and bring meaningful change into their lives.

## Interview Questions for André Consciência

### 1 Your Relationship with Magnus Sarmarx

**- You describe Magnus as a mentor since before adulthood. How did your magical relationship evolve, and how did it shape you as a magician?**

Back then, it was IRC (mIRC) and so on, and the internet paid dearly by the hour, and mIRC channels and the like. That is where I first met Magnus. I had a compilation from Aleister Crowley and was kind of preaching, also a compilation with Alice Bailey and other theosophists. These were zip files and books in mostly txt format, the way it flowed back then, with instructive illustrations passed on in ascii. Magnus challenged me, told me he had something better for me. Part of me probably thought it was one more arrogant fool, but a bigger part of me wanted to test if this was true. What he had to challenge my two home-made compendia was a single work, Franz Bardon’s “Initiation Into Hermetics”.

I tested Magnus, asking him which of the four elements should be on top. If something different from love (water), I would likely cut ties with this source. Magnus told me fire should be operating on top, since to love one must first have the power to love and the will to take love into fruition. I could not really beat this logic and accepted his better reason.

The rest is history. I started training IIH. We started to know each other better, and he gave me access to people, organisations, and information (in this world and the other) I would have had a very hard time obtaining otherwise. Then one day, when I was ready, he underwent the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and at its conclusion, we used one of the most significant and most symbolic and hermetic statues of Lisbon to anchor a magical alliance of decades of team magical practice and build a foundation with Emrudue, the lord of the seventh lunar mansion.

**- Was there a moment when you realized you were ready to take on the task of translating and commenting on this text?**

I don’t really remember not feeling ready for any of it. I realized I was ready to translate and comment as soon as I thought of what could be done to publish this material with the care it deserves.

### 2 The Translation and Commentary Process

**- The original text is dense with visionary language and operational details. How did you approach making the commentary without losing its essence?**

I made the commentary in quite a different tone, or at least I tried to, exactly not to blend with the original text in a manner that could interfere with the book’s own spirit and space. The work of Magnus is very “hands-on” magic and spirits raised higher and higher, and in [The Great Treatise of the Reintegration of Beings](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/the-great-treatise-on-the-reintegration-of-being), even more so than at [Arcanum Hermeticum](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/arcanum-hermaticum-standard-edition). The commentary gives it an academic complement, not in the worst sense, since it still is coming from someone who does not like to be seen as academic at all. It also offers the view of someone who has worked very closely with the author and who watched the contents that ended up in this book come to light.

That being said, the commentary is still my responsibility, and there may be instances where I could be wrong or in which I might have misunderstood Magnus.

**- Were there sections you felt compelled to expand upon in the footnotes/endnotes for the sake of the modern reader?**

I felt compelled to expand upon sections in the chapter endnotes not because of the modern reader. The concept of a modern reader is quite abstract, isn’t it? There are many readers today, each with a singular perspective, and the [Great Treatise](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/the-great-treatise-on-the-reintegration-of-being) is a modern book in any case. I worked for the book instead of for the readers. But I remember how much footnotes and endnotes helped me when I was beginning. Some books are like a voyage in the black night for someone who is young or inexperienced. Footnotes, like those endless boring notes of S.L. MacGregor Mathers upon Eliphas Levis’ works, or the way Julius Evola would footnote his own books with literary quotes, leading me to read plenty of philosophers, poets and novelists, were my guiding stars.

Footnotes still fascinate me today and often for apparently the opposite reason. If you look at the way Kenneth Grant used to write his footnotes or, today, Sean Woodward, such footnotes almost disorient the reader, breaking the surface of the text, creating tunnels within tunnels and a final labyrinth that, in the mandala it represents, is the real and actual occult message of a book, or the occult message within the occult message.

Lately, I hear a lot of people talking about a “no-nonsense” approach to magic, but while magic may be a simple martial art, it is first and foremost philosophy: the method in this philosophy is called occultism. Meanings veiled within meanings, when unveiled, will result in new meanings that could not have been communicated in a more direct way, since at this stage of maturity, humankind has no simple words to convey them. If you really know poetry, this is what is taking place in good poetry as well, and there is no substantial magic in a soul without substantial poetry.

Being a magician is not the same as being a technician of magic. Technique is one thing, but to be an artist is to use it in a way that expands the world. Magic is an art, some say, The Art.

### 3 Personal Experience of the Practices

**- You mention having tested many of the practices with Magnus. Which aspect of the system impacted you the most personally?**

I tested and reported on all practices, so Magnus would avail of a third party and examine the effects on someone other than him. The one that impacted me the most is likely the one that the simple reader will find most out of place in terms of tradition, working with the beings and then an exu or eshu version of the beings, then fusing both in polarity. It may look at first glance as if Magnus is making it up as he goes (as if that would be denigrating in any way), but what Magnus is really doing is pushing the beings to the crossroads where decisions take place, this is where the beings show their true personality and independence, and, consequently, influence personality and inspire independence. The way we are taught in most grimoires, we are only given the being’s grace to work with, the being’s passivity and receptivity to the primordial light. With the formula of Exu the being becomes the sovereign source of this light, and when you fuse them together, you ensure grace isn’t lost. It is the most of what you can get in a work like this.

Afterwards, Emrudue, for instance, is not just a lunar presence: an automaton with the complexity of intelligence that represents a certain emission of the lunar flow. Emrudue becomes as real as any material person that you consider to be truly sovereign (a level above how real the average material person feels like).

A second aspect is how the beings are sometimes approached as an army of 999 trillion of themselves. This sounds almost silly (although the number isn’t arbitrary). However, while the Exu aspect cuts the abstraction that sucks the life out of the beings in terms of quality, this dispelling of the being's finitude in quantity makes personality immediately align with the cosmos at large in all its myriad sources of individual expression. When I say personality, I mean not only the being’s personality, but your own. We are talking of a Reintegration because this was always about you in the first place.

**- Can you share an example of how the Plus Pole has manifested tangible change in your life?**

A few years ago, I was writing a book, “Beyond the Veil of Illusion” (yet to be published) at the request of a Head of Jupiter. The Head had invaded my living room, apparently uninvited, and, upon permission, lodged a volt with the seed of the book to be written in my left wisdom tooth. Right after I had written it, my jaw on that side got pretty swollen. I went to a dentist, and the bloody man ripped off six teeth at once when only needing to remove one, managing to break my jaw in the process and dislodge a group of bones in the cervical. I had trouble moving, sitting, lying down, walking, sleeping, and so on. No doctor seemed to want to help me or know how to except by telling me to wait and it would get better, some saying it would not get better and I had to get used to it for the rest of my life. I went to the head of Jupiter, with abnormal effort in getting to him, and the head simply didn’t recognize my pain, “all is according to law.” My pain was too small for him. I realised I had fallen victim to an old trick; I had been made a pawn by sitting on the minus pole, and it was all the invitation the Head of Jupiter needed.

Ironically enough, as I think of it, I realize that the whole “Beyond the Veil of Illusion” constitutes a mighty magical technology fully within the Plus Pole frame (may it get published and read often to compensate for the chronic trouble). Luckily, my osteopath (and shiatsu master and tai chi instructor) eventually restored most of my capacity to move and decreased the pain.

When the loud as hell ringing started in my ear due to tight jaw and neck preventing the blood from pumping to my ear, like a car buzzing on my lobe 24 hours a day, everywhere in space, with no rest for the wicked, after two weeks under permanent torture I went to the hospital, sobbing like a fool due to a kind of shutdown on my nervous system, and gagging, eyes all red and down. After one and a half days, no doctor had come for me yet. I went home and spoke with Magnus. He gave me some Plus Pole practices not included in this book and we worked alongside some Nephilim that are very much active spirits and understanding of human struggles. In about three hours, the thing went from 100% to 20% and so remained, still enough to be a nuisance, but not enough to set me off my trails for sure. Life saver.

### 4 Artistic and Magical Contributions

**- Beyond translation and commentary, you created the cover and the seals of the Archdemons. Did you see the artistic work itself as magical?**

Completely. The artistic work is magic materialized. It is not a simple decoration.

**- How did you decide which symbols and seals would best convey the spirit of the work?**

The cover is illustrative, although hermetically arranged. It shows one of the lunar priestesses depicted in the book within Emrudue’s mansion. The seals of the archdemons were picked specifically because I had already offered all other seals in A Guide to the Elementals (Falcon Books Publishing). What I never offered anywhere else was my own seals of the archdemons, as were transmitted to me in mental wandering or by means of clairvoyance. It turns out the direct seals were not permitted, not for their power, but for their lack of power (they are accessible to me but less accessible to you). The process required an alchemy of automatic and mediumistic art from out of the original seals, to make the final vessel more universal through artistic transmission.

### 5 The Value of Plus Pole

**- How much value do you see in a book like this, in terms of what it presents and what it sets out to achieve?**

Value… If you want to live like a martyr, there is no value in this book. If you wish to live like a Magus, you’d like to use this book as a living being.

**- I noticed that the "Plus Pole" structure seems like a focal point for what a greater God could be—something always superior to everything else. How do you interpret this structure?**

Think of the top of a pyramid whose whole respective pyramid is the top of the pyramid consecutively, that continuously, the circular oroboros made into an endless upward spiral, an unstoppable process of refinement into the force of all forces within the force of all forces, ad infinitum.

### 6 For Prospective Readers

**- I see that the structure of the book serves as a direct way to ensure the safety of the work. Do you think it’s sufficient?**

No book is sufficient on itself. In terms of grimoires all books are half the work, the other half is the practitioner. Both may match or may not match. If the practitioner resists the prompts and commands of self-suggestion that continuously push the contents of [The Great Treatise](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/the-great-treatise-on-the-reintegration-of-being) towards the good and the better and best in situations and objects of perception, or if there is no surrender, or if, on the other hand, the reader insists on keeping a minus attitude, [The Great Treatise](https://www.siriuslimitedesoterica.com/product-page/the-great-treatise-on-the-reintegration-of-being) may even push back. It is enough to have a pure intention and to be wholly within this intention, there remaining. Then, following the book step by step will be completely safe. **- What advice would you give to someone about to perform their first operation from the book?**

Pay subconscious attention to details, and to language; there is a lot of neurolinguistic magic within and self-suggestion. Don’t over rationalize and analyze, reason is the minus pole of the plus pole called light. Especially, pay attention to the apparently simple preparations and do not skip them when they repeat, as they give the necessary magnetism to support all the electricity of the conjurations.

### 7 On Reintegration as a Path

**- How do you see the reintegration of beings as it relates to your own magical philosophy and to humanity’s spiritual evolution?**

When people come to me and ask, “Why is it necessary to learn this and that?” Although some are born with active magic or mediumistic skills and need magic to control these and survive the extrasensory chaos, my usual answer is that magic is an art; it is to be loved, not depended upon. Magic is not needed; what is needed is food and a place to sleep. However, I do realize one day magic (or whatever name we give it in the future) will be of tremendous necessity, as without it we will not be able to understand certain contacts and events, and will end up self-destroying in our own projections. The reintegration of all beings within the innermost self, called the Supreme, is something without which we can’t even begin to fathom the forces observing us right now. If within the minus pole, we will go mad with panic, if within the plus pole, we will pass to a whole different stage as a species.

**- The Plus Pole path seems to integrate all aspects in a blessed way. How do you see the transmission of ancient philosophy and the legacy we carry today? In a context where the old no longer serves the present, how can we move toward a new way of being—safely?**

The old always serves the present. It serves books such as these and brings them to fruition. The secret languages of the occult are only used by a few, but they must be preserved, actualized and kept burning throughout the ages, because when mankind leaves its sleeping state this may be the only bridge back to its primordial nature. The Plus Pole and focusing all within a blessing frame is essential to cleanse all impurities that have crept into the Current throughout aeons of limited human life, from before and after the Ice Age.

And do not mistake my words, I am not encouraging a dualistic tradition. Within the depth point of the minus there is the plus, within the depth point of the plus, the minus, yet they are one and the same depth point. Our Plus doctrine does not concern surface dualism, and exists entirely within the depth point. It concerns, however, how you’d have the depth point manifest.
