# Aliens versus Spirits by Sixty Skills

## Intro

Many thanks to Bob of SixtySkills for this transcript of one of his youtube videos, on a particularly interesting topic. Please forgive any strange words, these are the result of an automated transcript.

Aliens versus Spirits or are aliens or spirits real? Well, the answer to both is yes; they both in fact exist. However, Spirits are much more common now. For those of us involved in the magical Community this isn't any really big news, but for people out there who are new to this or who don't know much about it, I'm going to provide a bit of a background.

Every culture has a long list of what they consider to be Spirit Registries. Two most common ones in the western world are Franz Bardon's second book, The Practice of Magical Evocation, in which several hundred of these entities are detailed and how to bring them into existence; or as most people are familiar, the Lesser Key of Solomon involving the 72 spirits of latan.

## Common Spirits

However, these are not the only list of spirits out there. For example, in classical ISM if you're studying Spirit magic you'll be given Registries of spirits that you are expected to work through. Okay, fair enough, but it gets even more common than that. For example, Shingon Buddhism—you got all the Shingon deities, right? Well, turns out they all have sigils; they all have mantras associated with them; they can be evoked as well. For those of you who are more interested in a classical approach to this, you can look at the Greco Roman gods. Some people are attracted to the Egyptian deities; they all have symbols or sigils or sacred drawings that along with the right Mantra and the right set of conditions can in fact be used to evoke them. This is in fact a universal technology. Now, no one has a complete listing of all of these kinds of creatures, and there are various different kinds, and much like any EOS system out there some of these things are very friendly, some of these things are very hostile, some of these things are very dangerous, and some of these things are beneficial.

## What Is a Spirit

Loosely said, a spirit can be defined as a nonphysical intelligence—in other words, something that’s intelligent that does not have a physical body. Okay? Okay. How are these things, well, as we would say in Magic, evoked or brought into existence? Okay, they’re normally brought into existence by accident, and this is why there’s that big confusion between aliens—and we’ll get to those in a minute—and Spirits. The issue is that most untrained people do have encounters with these things, but being untrained they’re largely at the mercy of these things as well, and they don’t have a really safe way in which to engage with them. That said, because of how they normally come into existence accidentally—for the most part, unless you’re involved in rights of evocation, and again we’ll get to those in a second—an untrained person can categorize things as aliens if that’s their cultural Paradigm to do so, whereas more classically they would refer to them as Spirits. Either way, in this case we’re talking about a non-physical entity that is intelligent.

## Accidental Spirits

Now, we talked a little bit about how they arrive or how they come into this level of existence—normally this is accidental. So when a spirit shows up, normally it’s just the right conjunction of environmental factors, of astrological factors, and all of a sudden this thing can make a guest appearance in our world. Now, they generally can’t stick around for very long; however, once they make contact with somebody it makes it much easier for them to make contact with that individual in the future. So if you bring, say, recreational drug use into the picture that has modified the sensory apparatus temporarily of an individual, they may be able to make contact with one of these things much easier.

## Rights of Evocation

Now in the non-accidental category of things you have rights of evocation. This is the summoning and binding of an entity. These are generally ritual in nature, although that’s not always true—there are some internal power methods of doing this, but they’re fairly rare—and typically this will involve a series of ritual instructions performed over a very long period of time. So people who engage in a lot of physical manifestation of entities actually refer to these as operations. This can be very complicated and takes quite a while because they’re generally going to have to perform the ritual involved to build up enough of a subtle energy charge to make the entity show. Many times they also tend to time these things astrologically to take advantage of the best possible series of events in order to raise the likelihood of it working out. Okay? Now, why would someone want to do this? Generally speaking, when people engage in what we call Spirit magic or evocation, they’re doing this for one of two reasons: one, they’re looking for information—they want to know how to do something; they want to know something about the future or how events are going to turn out. Okay, fair enough; or two, they need something done for them.

Classically speaking, if you look at the spirits of the lomega or the spirits of the Lesser key of Solomon—and I don’t advise using these entities as they’re quite dirty, and again get to that in a bit—in a moment here, they govern things like grave robbing, enforcing Justice, getting debtors to pay you money. All right, why would someone want to do this? Well, as a modern person, we have these things called the police and courts, but these are very new inventions that as most people understand them are less than a hundred years old in most cases. So if you go further back in time than that and there’s a local nobleman who took some money from you and refuses to pay it back, or you’ve got another gentleman who likes raping your daughter on every given Tuesday just because he’s got status in society and you don’t—well, no one’s going to help you. The courts don’t exist for you; police basically don’t exist; you don’t have enough patronage or enough wealth to buy the person off or enforce some kind of justice. So what do you do? You go to the local Village headman, who happens to be a sorcerer or Shaman of some kind; he gives you a ritual to perform because he doesn’t want to be on the hook for this; you perform the ritual; you summon the spirit; it does some work for you. That’s traditionally how this thing kind of worked. And if you studied the works of Dr Steven Skinner, what you’ll find is that according to him the names of the spirits of the Laton haven’t largely changed since the time of the ancient Greeks—these things are pretty old. Well, here’s the thing: people only spend time and effort on things that actually work, and this is where the more, how do I say this, overeducated classes like to write things off as Superstition. Well, people don’t do things for a couple thousand years in a row unless they’re getting something out of it. Now, if you don’t want to deal with the ramifications of a non-physical World existing, that’s a different issue, and that’s usually the source of their dissonance regarding this whole thing.

## Risk Versus Reward

Okay, so we talked a little bit about what these are and why you would want to do it. Well, what are the risks versus reward kind of aspect? Well, here’s the thing: a non-physical entity needs energy, for lack of a better word, in order to do things on your behalf. Well, you have a physical body and you have breath, so if you bring one of these things into existence, it’s going to borrow some of that energy your body makes to power what it is you’re trying to get it to do. So that’s one thing you need to be aware of. Two, as non-physical entities, these things can literally heckle you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Okay, they can get you to do a lot of things that you might otherwise not think about—that whole concept of the gregores that I bring up over and over again: the more involved with one of these things you are, the more it influences your free will. There’s no getting around this; it’s not negotiable. It’s just like that circle of your six closest friends deciding who you are—it’s that kind of risk versus reward thing. So that’s the problem: if you’re involved with one of these—let’s call it a grungier entity that’s involved with something like, I don’t know, grave robbing—well, that’s going to impact you a lot. So that’s that whole risk and reward kind of thing.

## The Problem

Okay, now what about aliens? Because everybody wants to talk about aliens. Well, first of all, as we got into in the early part of this video, a lot of aliens are just spirits—people see things because their subtle senses open up a little bit, right? Astrological conditions, so on and so on. However, if you’ve done some research out there, you can look at the videos of Bob Lazar, particularly the ones with Joe Rogan, for example, and it’s pretty clear that aliens physically exist as well.

Here’s the problem: their technology is so far advanced ahead of ours that even if you find these things, making any use of them is probably going to be pretty hard. Well, this also brings into the issue—as human history has shown—is that if someone is sufficiently more advanced than another group of people, and that other group of people has something the more advanced group wants, that other group of people are probably going to die. Now, you can talk about the good or the bad of that, but let’s just kind of spell out how it works. Sorry.

So the good news is apparently we don’t have a whole lot of interest to these things, which is really handy because if we had something they wanted, they’d just come take it and there probably wouldn’t be anything we can do about it. So the fact that we don’t know more about them—in a very strange kind of way—is an ignorance is bliss scenario. We don’t know more about them because we’re not very interesting to them, so they have no incentive to do anything bad to us or to take that thing that they’re interested in. Now what I would say is this is probably for the best for the reasons we just talked about. That said, of course it’s always in some people’s minds: better to get a fix on this kind of thing. Which camp you fall into—that’s largely up to you.

## Parable

I’ll leave you with this one little Parable. If you took a monk from the 14th Century from Western Europe in the middle of the night and grabbed him and brought him to the end of the runway at JFK airport in New York City, and you said nothing to him, you left him there for 30 minutes but you didn’t allow him to go anywhere, and he witnessed airplanes taking off and landing for half an hour, and then you magically took him back to his bed in the 14th century and left him there with no explanation—what description of what he saw would he give you? Giant metal demons belching flame with people on board screaming? I don’t know, but again based off his knowledge of the world he probably wouldn’t have a very good explanation for what’s going on. That’s kind of the problem we’re in with aliens: even if you captured one of these things alive, I’m pretty willing to bet that whoever its group of people or entities or whatever they are would make quick work of getting them back if they were still alive. And if they crashed a spaceship—well, the hairless monkeys walking around probably couldn’t do anything with it anyway. So we don’t really care, kind of put some perspective into where human beings may fall in the actual universe. That being said, as far as we can tell they don’t seem to have a whole lot of interest in human beings, and that’s probably for the better because keep in mind these oxygen-breathing, carbon-based life forms that make up the vast majority of this planet—that may not be how other entities exist; that may not be what they’re based off of. Even communicating with something might not be very easy because they don’t communicate through a spoken word. Who knows? That said, they do seem to exist based off repeat evidence presented by UFO researchers. So this is just a little talk about how people often confuse aliens with spirits and how Spirits are probably the more common of the bunch.
